The tulle petticoat I have planned for W&D better be fine. No hoops or anything rigid involved, and it’s knee-length: basically, it’s a tutu, just worn under a dress. If the runner in the image had a thin skirt over the tutu, it would be the same thing. According to the policy, it should be perfectly fine… but we’ve seen how the people policing sometimes go rogue.Posted this over on the costume thread, but sharing here as well. Check your email! rD just sent a clarification of the costume guidelines with examples.

This, as with the new costume policy, shutting down Everest for maintenance right at the start of MW, and other twitliness, sure seems like a big middle finger, and part of the Mouse’s relentless effort to see what it takes to get us to take our money elsewhere.Another nice change that comes into effect right after MW on the day we fly home:

Wait, Everest is going down? Say it isn't so!This, as with the new costume policy, shutting down Everest for maintenance right at the start of MW, and other twitliness, sure seems like a big middle finger, and part of the Mouse’s relentless effort to see what it takes to get us to take our money elsewhere.
Not to mention raising the prices on pretty much every food item on property and APs today (that’s all I saw, I might’ve missed other price increases). All day park hopping returning was meant to cover up a lot of negative news today. This, as with the new costume policy, shutting down Everest for maintenance right at the start of MW, and other twitliness, sure seems like a big middle finger, and part of the Mouse’s relentless effort to see what it takes to get us to take our money elsewhere.
Do you have a source for this? This, as with the new costume policy, shutting down Everest for maintenance right at the start of MW, and other twitliness, sure seems like a big middle finger, and part of the Mouse’s relentless effort to see what it takes to get us to take our money elsewhere.
I was so excited when I read this this morning!Another nice change that comes into effect right after MW on the day we fly home:

Where are you seeing that Everest will be closed? I just did a Google search and couldn’t find anythingThis, as with the new costume policy, shutting down Everest for maintenance right at the start of MW, and other twitliness, sure seems like a big middle finger, and part of the Mouse’s relentless effort to see what it takes to get us to take our money elsewhere.
They took it down for maintenance last year, right now as marathon weekend was starting. And the Rockin Roller Coaster was down for Princess weekend. GrrrWait, Everest is going down? Say it isn't so!
Yes. Sorry. I’m still peeved about 2022.I think he’s talking about Everest shutting down for the 2022 MW, which I was bummed about.
Thanks for the info.FWIW the Everest refurb was announced well in advance and my read on the plan at the time was that they wanted to get it done in time for April spring break crowds (verdict: not that successful, it reopened just before Easter). I’m optimistic for it’s availability for this race weekend.
Tower of Terror was also getting a refurb while 2022 MW was happening, running on one side. Weird coincidence as these are the most accessible rides during the marathon.
^^This totally!! I have an AP and a trip in November and then for MW which I am staying beyond 1/9. I need to sign up for an online class just to keep track of what I can or need to do when. At this point, what value is keeping the park reservation system? It feels like those crazy math problems..."two trains leave the station at different times and travel at different speeds..."I know the timing isn’t ideal for MW, but as as a (semi) local, the dropping of the 2pm wait to park hop is very welcome news! Now get rid of the stupid park reservations - every single day for the foreseeable future is open for AP admission, so there is no way WDW is magically adjusting staffing based on me booking a park reservation from said park’s parking lot as I walk in.![]()
I don't think it'll put a damper on the costumes. People were plenty creative preCOVID with these same guidelines and they still have plenty of wriggle room to work with. Yes rD needs to take some responsibility since they showcased costumes that violate these long standing guidelines, but this is a run/walk/roll event and the costumes need to respect that.UGH Disney - I don't do costumes, but I absolutely love looking at everyone else's creativity at these races! It's such a big part of the fun vibe of a Disney race and their new restrictions are going to really put a damper on that. Along with the price increases (so glad I had already bought my AP) and waiting until after MW to bring back all day park hopping it was not a great day for Disney news for the rD community.
--> You can park hop anytime but only after January 9 but you still need park reservations but only if we go before 2PM except for Magic Kingdom but only on Saturday and Sunday. Oh and by the way we are announcing "Good to Go Days" which means on select days and/or parks you do not need a reservation but the day and/or the park have not been announced and may vary.
