Add me to those who really like the philharmagic, I especially like the CoCo scenes.
The first time I took my kids to WDW, back in 2004 or so, we went on the teacups as our first ride at MK. They got that teacup spinning like a washing machine in the spin cycle! It pretty much wrecked my day. Definitely a rookie mistake I've never made again!SAFD: Teacups! So many fun family memories of my DDs trying to spin it fast to make DH hurl. Good times. Luckily they were never successful.
Baloo hasn’t been on today. Think we’re just in the dog days of summer, bit of a lull around here before things start to ramp up again with Springtime Surprise registration, should get medal pics for both January race weekends in about a month (last year we got MW pics on 8/29). In the meantime it’s just kinda quiet around here in general.I’ve been checking for SAFD today. Where is everyone?
Great question!Well shoot! I’ll do one!
SAFD: where do you go (or do you NOT) for your race-related info aside from rundisney’s website? Who/what are your favorites?
I get a ton of my details (the nitty gritty about course info, etc) here, obviously. I also get extra details from rise and run podcast as well as runners without limits podcast. I don’t do much with YouTube or insta (mostly because I don’t fully understand how insta works)
For RD? I seem to pick up random posts here and there on IG, I don’t follow anyone though. Occasionally I’ll watch youtube recaps of races, although I did that much more when I wanted to get a sense of what the marathon would be like. I was a big fan of what RunArnoRun was doing but he hasn’t done a RD event since MW 2020 (as I type this I checked to see what he’s up to and looks like he’s doing Chicago this year). Jar Oxenspoon is a fun account, I think he’s been there for most, if not all of the race weekends recently. And RunSota, who pops in here occasionally, does full POV vids of the races he runs.Well shoot! I’ll do one!

Hey all,
My apologies on missing SAFD today. We woke up to a flooded basement and spent the whole morning pulling wet box after wet box out into the backyard - it was bad. And then just to make it that much more fun. It started to rain and we had to move everything from the backyard to the garage….
We lost a lot of stuff today and realized we had way too much in there! And as I wasI just sitting down to dinner it dawn on me that it is Sunday. Oooof! I will jump back in next week with a SAFD question and here is my answer to @Herding_Cats question:
I also listen to the Rise and Run Podcast. I follow a couple Dopey and runDIsney related Facebook groups and follow this along with several other Dis runDisney Threads!
Hope everyone has a good week and my advice. If your water heater is 10 or more years old maybe have it Inspected!
Oh wow. Sorry you had to deal with that.Hope everyone has a good week and my advice. If your water heater is 10 or more years old maybe have it Inspected!
Sorry for your difficulties, sounds like it was quite a day. Hope you didn’t lose anything that can’t be replaced. Good luck with any further clean up.
SAFD: @Baloo in MI I am so sorry that happened!! We have been through that before as well and it is AWFUL.
I get most of my info here (obviously!) but also from social media and watching some YouTube videos. I tried the Rise and Run podcast and it didn't do it for me, but maybe I should give it another listen.
Oh wow. Sorry you had to deal with that.
A few years ago, a day before I was leaving for Marathon Weekend. I noticed a little bit of water on the ground in my garage (water heater is in the garage). Now if it has rained, it’s not uncommon for water to be on the ground from where it has dripped off my car. So the first time I saw it, I didn’t think anything about it, but then I realized - it hadn’t rained! I found a leak dripping from the bottom of my water heater. I had to have my water heater replaced ‘after hours’, but I’m glad it happened before I left and not while I was gone for a week.
Oh, no! I’m so sorry that you’re dealing with that. I hope the damage is not so awful as it first appeared.Hey all,
