Marathon Weekend 2017!

Congratulations to all runners this weekend! With the half being cancelled, I decided to sleep in on Saturday morning and enjoy the rest of the day in Epcot. It was really inspiring seeing everyone completing their own half around the boardwalk/Epcot/HS area. Coming into this weekend I was pretty undertrained (longest run of 8 miles during this training period), so I decided to not join in and risk injury. I will be heading back down for Princess in two months and will be much more trained and ready for that weekend.

The Space Coast has both Galloway and non-Galloway pace groups for both the half and full. That's the only non-Disney race I've seen them.

sorry off topic:
I want the other space coast medal, the one from the Cocoa Beach Half...JEANNIE!;)

If you're interested, you can get a custom phone case at Downtown Disney. Have one for each race and you can have your name added. At the Marketplace Co-op. Didn't get one but they look pretty cool.

Does anyone know what other races use the Galloway pace groups? I had a great time running with the 7:00 hr pacers for that 4 mile stretch between near the exit of WWOS and the parking lot at DHS and am thinking I would like to use a race with them as a PR attempt. Don't care about the exact distance but half or full would be the preference.

To clarify I'm looking for ones outside of Disney.
I ran with JG 2:15 pacers at W&D and thought it was great.....sorry, just caught the "outside of Disney" congrats on your marathon finish!!

@Ariel484 & @FFigawi,
I think they should add periods after the 1 & 2 so they are like steps to completion (and swap the "half marathon" and "marathon"), like this:

1. Half Marathon
2. Marathon
2 Days, 4 Theme Parks
39.3 Miles

...or in this year's case:
1. Create Your Own Half Marathon or Sleep In
2. Marathon
Possibly a Resort, plus 4 Theme Parks
39.3 or 26.2 Miles

Has anyone ever had the roof of their mouth hurt after a full before? I went to eat yesterday and it was unbelievably painful. I knew my legs and feet were going to hurt but I didn't expect that. Thankfully it's not as bad today but it still hurts.

My marathon yesterday went ok. Considering I am at about 90% fitness after my injuries and reduced training, I finished in about 4:20. I know I am capable of faster since I had 20 miles training runs earlier last year where I finished in under 3:00. I was even fine for most of this race, with my heart beat around 145, which is kind of low. I was not pushing myself too much because I was freezing during the first half and then the last half is where I faded a bit. I was not tired, but my quads did ache just a bit, so I know what I need to focus on for next year.

I was probably also carrying an extra 20 lbs, of which most is weight, and the rest was my soaked jacked that was trapping water. I finally took it off before the finish line and it was heavy as heck.

At least my V02max estimate has gone up from 50 to 51, according to Garmin. I thought for sure it would go down with my time being poor, but I guess when you combine it with my low heart rate it thinks I was sandbagging it, or something.
