Marathon Weekend 2017!

I normally wear shorts down to 35-40, but I'm opting for tights tomorrow unless the wind has calmed down by the time I wake up. My legs don't usually get cold, but the wind chill could be something special.

I've asked a couple of similar ticket questions, but I think they've been lost in the shuffle of all the hustle and bustle on this thread over the last day :) Hopefully someone can answer us once things settle down. To me, it seems like the 2 one day hoppers are a better value than the gift card. I asked if they could ever be combined by guest services into one ticket? I'm thinking no?

I doubt that the tickets can be combined.

We just got back from there. I love shopping, but the entire Premium Outlets experience was horrible... no parking spots, wall to wall people, long lines in every store (Nike had at least 50 people in line - we stopped counting after that). The crowds at the outlet stores made the Disney parks seem empty.

That's just a regular day at the outlets,They're full from opening to closing and they close later than regular malls at 11pm.Which one did you go,Vineland or International drive?I've started to avoid the International drive location as everything you mentioned is worse,I'll go if I need a store that's not at Vineland but otherwise I always go to Vineland.

Would you ever come and visit for just one day? I think you have to figure that into the equation. If you buy multi days then the days get cheaper the more days you buy. I think that devalues the one days some but I could be overcomplicating it. What is the value of the gift card?

The gift card is the value of what you paid for the race (which was about $190.)

ONE one day park hopper ticket is valued at about $160 and they're giving you two. With Disney, tickets are most expensive initially and then you add on less as you add days.

If we go twice and get 5 day hoppers they'd be $436 each time with tax for a total of $872 for the two trips. With these two base tickets we'd only be paying the difference each time from the one day to a five day which would end up being about $552 total for the two trips. So we'd be getting more value up front which also in turn would save us about $300 each on future tickets. Am I figuring this correctly??

Just bought a knit hat at one of the gift shops for $10. Plan on wearing it as long as possible tomorrow. ::yes::

We went to Vineland.

I don't think that these tickets will be upgrade-able. Most of Disney's complimentary tickets are not. If we can upgrade the tickets, the park hopper tickets will be a no brainer for us.

I have decided to wear warm gear tomorrow since I will be stopping a lot for pictures with characters. With all of the standing before the race and during the race, I would prefer to be too warm than too cold. I'll just slow down a little more and have fun with it.

So, my gear for tomorrow:

Running pants (thicker and looser than tights) with compression shorts underneath
Thermal running top plus my 2014 Goofy Challenge tech shirt on top of that to break the wind
Light weight beanie hat and light running gloves
Sweatshirt on top until the race starts, then that gets ditched

That's the key - if they cannot be upgraded, we would never use them. We never go for just one day, and would never pay that rate for a single day, so they have no value to me if they are not able to be upgraded. Glad that I am getting the gift card. We will use that later this year when we return (we have APs).

Well that would change everything! Haha I didn't know they wouldn't be upgradeable. Thanks so much for the heads up!

Normally I go for shorts (and I am going to miss not being able to wear my Sparkle Skirt tomorrow!) but the weather is just to cold for it.

Here's what I'll be wearing tomorrow morning minus the gloves:

Anyone sees me is welcome to say hi.

Yeah that's why I was asking if you would ever go for just one day. :) It changes the math, which I'm just not up for tonight. :)

I'm all about the layers!! Wearing capris, long sleeve tech shirt under my Goofy fastpass shirt then with a long sleeve throwaway tee over that and a throwaway sweatshirt over that. Lol. Got an ear band and gloves as well. Mylar blankets too so I think we should be fine. Glad I had a last minute panic overpacking moment!!

Got out green ribbon in our bib hole if we ever strip off enough layers for anyone to see it. :)

I was thinking the same thing.

I mean about the stopping, thus dressing warmer. I was already gonna go slow. :) I walked around Epcot today in the outfit I had planned on wearing for the half and was SO cold. That was a wake-up call.

I will be wearing at least three pairs or leggings (two base-layer leggings and one regular legging) and then at least four long-sleeves shirts under my North Face jacket. Also, gloves and a hat.

I hate the cold and actually shivered for a good five minutes while sitting at dinner tonight, so all the clothes it is.

It's funny because two weeks ago during my last long run I thought 'Man I love running here but why am I running here on the Mall in the dark and freezing my butt off it's not like Florida is going to be like this' fast forward two weeks later near identical conditions except we didn't have a windchill like this on Christmas Eve.

You should move further south. My work place is hiring ;)

Its supposed to be in the 50s here tomorrow and the news is telling us to wear layers! I"m going to go out for my last (really only) long run before rebel challenge. Should be nice! It will be in the 80s when we leave for California on Tuesday!

Good luck everyone tomorrow! Stay warm!

Florida - The Sunshine State, they said! So stupid Tobi just packed short pants :-D

But my shirt is long sleeve and I got something warm as a second layer.

Anyway, good thing is, I trained in the cold, so I hope it is just going to feel familiar.

Everything is ready, Tobi is carboloaded, see the nice ribbon on my bib, so heading to bed now, see you tomorrow, good luck everybody.
