I am interested in riding the Expedition Everest during the Marathon and have a couple of questions: Is there usually a line? For those of you who have done it, do you keep your Garmin running, and if so what is the fastest speed it reads? Also how much time would the ride waiting entering , exiting etc take off of your time?

Depends on when you hit there exactly how long it is but there's always a line for Everest. It's one of the must dos for people in the Marathon.

When I did it last time in 2014 it took me about 12 minutes when I entered the single rider line and I got into it around 9:05? Rides only about 3 minutes I think at most it's just a matter of how many people are being brought through from both queues.

They use to have a lot for visiting the boardwalk that was across the street from the BW guest parking, is that not available anymore?

Its still there, technically that lot is for employees but many times if you want to visit the Boardwalk and you drive up to the guard at the regular Boardwalk parking lot the security guard will still direct you to park at that lot. There are ocassions like during the Food and Wine festival where they'll have signs telling you not to park there and probably there will also be a security guard posted at the entrance keeping people from parking there unless its a valid reason. If your object is to park there on marathon morning at 10am or so I don't really think it would be a problem, you're going there for a valid reason,to go check out the marathon, its early on a Sunday so not really a whole lot going on at the Boardwalk aside from the marathon so as long as youre just going there for an hour or two to see the runners and once you're done you move on I don't see why it would be a problem with parking there.

We are mere days away from the kickoff of marathon weekend. Time for one last Sundays are for Disney question:

WHO'S READY??

I'm ready for the half. The full will be an exercise in fun, photos, and friends as part of #TeamKeels (@Keels)

P.S. I think there should be one more "Sundays are for Disney" question next week. On Sunday evening, you can ask everyone how their marathon weekend went. :)

Good morning and Happy New Year, runDisney all-stars!

I hope everyone has a great race(s) and that I get to meet some of you down in Florida.

Ready as I will ever be for this one :) I do need to start packing though, not ready for that!

Assuming I survive my first marathon, I think that can be arranged.

I'm ready to leave this cold Wisconsin weather that is for sure! I feel ready to run and know I can do it I just hope everything goes to plan.

OK, here is one of the (hopefully) two signs we will have. Disclaimer: I'm a scientist, Jim, not a poster artist! :) Planning to be somewhere around the BW tennis courts with DH ~11ish, and @girliea and DD may be with us as well. Will have candy if you need a sugar rush!

Spectacular poster and bonus points for the Star Trek reference.

Apologies to the people who likely already shared about Uber in this incredibly useful (but long) thread. Several questions about catching buses, etc. Don't forget about Uber. If you haven't used it yet download the ap and then you can typically get a really cheap first ride. It is also cheap getting around Disney unless it is some type of "surge" time (which you will be warned). However, it's my go-to now for getting around if we really need to get somewhere. Example, we're taking it easy Friday in HS but then will go to the Expo in the afternoon. Instead of taking the bus to resort then to Expo we'll pay around $6 +/- to go directly to Expo on Uber.

One useful tip - if you're in Epcot and want to Uber try to go out the back way and get an Uber from Boardwalk Inn - usually cheaper and faster since most Ubers wait on that side leading to a longer drive to the main entrance.

Less than one week to go!

I was planning on using Uber to get from CBR to the Poly at 8:30 for a breakfast ADR the morning of the half marathon, but I just realized there will be road closures in effect at that time. Do you think I'll have any issues or should it be okay?
