Count me in as a "Newp" also! In Pittsburgh, we're supposed to get freezing rain throughout the night on Friday and into Saturday. I've done a Dopey simulation run 2 weeks ago, so I've got 1 20 miler in the bag already. Was hoping to get another one in, but since I'm running for fun and not for time, I'm not overly concerned at this point. Having fun means being injury free. Freezing rain on the sidewalks could be too risky. That's still 2 days away though, so weather may change 5 times between now and then.
I'm with the others that did 2.5 on the treadmill this morning. By the time I would have gotten ready to run outside this morning in -13 windchills, I was already done with my run. Good luck to everyone this weekend who are running their long runs!!! It's almost Taper Time!

Hey,
The 12 should be okay: I won't be out there long enough to hit the worst of the heat. But 22? At my pace? I'd be out there in the worst heat/sun of the day. I'm concerned enough to be plotting routes that can easily end at 18 without leaving me miles from home, just in case.
That is a HUGE drop! Holy smokes.
I've been training through extreme heat/humidity here in FL since May, so I'm more than prepared for whatever may come in Jan - my priority now is to avoid heat stress. I've had heat stroke twice, which makes me extra sensitive to the heat, so I'll absolutely bail at the first sign of feeling overheated. I just find it humorous and ironic that the rest of the country's doing battle with the cold while down here we're desperate for an end to the heat!
