Wanted to post and say "Hi" to everyone again after a year and a half away

After 4 years in a row of Marathon weekend for our family, we took last year off and I ran the Dublin Marathon instead (awesome race BTW ). But the family missed being away from Disney for more than a 12 month stretch, so we're back on for 2017! It'll be the first time I'm not running a Challenge race, instead just running the marathon and the 5k with the kids, while my wife runs the half and the 5k. It feels great to have a Disney race back on the calendar!

I just got off the phone with Disney Dining, of course cannot make any of my ADR online today. The agent told me that the Memory Maker will now include all the Run Disney event photos Has anyone else heard this rumor, do you think it is true?

It is true. It started with the Dark Side races in April.

Thanks for the heads up! Just booked my flight on points. Still two days before I can make ADRs, but it looks like I'm flying solo this trip so I may be doing a lot of counter service.

We are going as a couple, but still doing mostly counter service! The options at Epcot alone are some of our faves on the entire property! Plus Flame Tree BBQ <3

How does this work with the race photos? Does it pick up our magic bands like , do we register our bib numbers?

Gosh I wish DL would get on the bandwagon with this.

I'm really excited about this. I haven't been thrilled with the quality of the pictures on the last couple of runs we've done, but the pictures that @Ariel484 had from her recent race were fantastic!

Same here - has this been named yet? I'm kinda surprised we haven't seen Disney brand it as the Pluto Challenge and charge $300 for both races and some extra $5 bling...

Actually, Disneyland also does this, starting with Tink half weekend in May. I have a Premier Annual Pass and got my photos for free that weekend.

In the race program there was a code that I needed to add to my account, similar to how the PhotoPass people give you a card with a code on the back when they take your picture. 16 digits or whatever. Part of the code was my race bib(s) number(s), so adding those to my account on Disneyland.com pulled up the pictures. So it seems like most and photo where your bib number is clearly visible should show up.

Good info. There are 6 of us sharing the MM, so I hope it lets all 6 of us put our code in.

I know DL Premier Passholders get the park photos, if you don't have a pass they only have a 1 day photo option. I wish DL would get the multi-day MM like WDW. Gets confusing between both coasts.

Flights on the 10th are crazy expensive today. About $70 per person more than the 9th or the 11th. This is probably because of the NCAA Football Championship on the 9th in Tampa.

Yeah we are leaving Tuesday and the flights are not looking good. Hopefully they either add some more or prices drop soon. Lowest price going down is $151 and lowest price coming back is $211.

Southwest released their flights through early March today. Booked my flight in on the 4th and out on the 9th. Now if I could just get the calendar to turn over a little faster so it would get here...

Thanks for this! I was able to book our flights, on points, and have another expense/item checked off my list! ADRs on Saturday!! BOG for celebratory dinner and their delicious champagne

There's the start of runner-specific access to merchandise prior to the general public, though. Something folks have been clamoring for. Unfortunately, in true Disney fashion, you've got to pay for it!

Of course they'll find a way to make even more money. I was just having an all-about-me moment where I realized it meant my schedule for that day would have to be adjusted.

I think I finally have my tentative schedule worked out and have my ADR plan mostly in place. I still have a couple of days to make any final adjustments, but I'm mostly there. Luckily there's nothing on there that's just an absolute must have for us, so if they don't all work out that's okay too.

I'm considering staying until Wednesday because of the expensive Tuesday flights. But that might be a losing battle. It would be another missed school day for my 4th grade daughter.

Online through MDE opens at 6:00 but I've heard it can get bogged down. I have to run in the morning so I'll miss the start but I'm hoping my travel agent can get what I was looking for. No big deal if not though. Dumb but I kind of like doing them myself.

Edit - I guess I should have added reservations by phone start at 7:00.

MDE is 6am EST, phone at 7am EST, like @croach said. HOWEVER. My window opened today and I haven't been able to book anything online. I tried using different browsers, clearing cookies, etc. but I keep getting the same error message. From skimming the Dining threads it seems like the problem has been around since at least yesterday. I ended up calling in and making about half of my reservations this afternoon. I saved some of the lower priority ones for when (if!) the system decides to function again.

So far I've got:

Kona Café, 1/4 - Pre-Expo breakfast
Sci-Fi Dine-In, 1/7 - Post-Half lunch
Narcoossee's, 1/8 - Sunday brunch
Le Cellier, 1/9 - lunch
Tusker House, 1/10 - breakfast
Crystal Palace, 1/11 - breakfast
'Ohana, 1/11 - dinner

ETA: Ahhh, it looks like I can make reservations for 180 days out, but not the +10. Sigh.
