Marathon Weekend 2017!

I will look for one locally. I just haven't run at all lately (have been working out though so I'm not necessarily out of shape just out of running shape!) so I would have to look for one later this summer maybe. It looks like I have until early October to submit a time?
Yep! Just make sure you find a race that has chip timing and results that are posted online and you should be good! :)

I was thinking about running a 10K for a better start corral too. Are there any tricks/tips to finding one that will definitely count?
Make sure the course says it's certified- the race website should say it. Also if they had races in previous years, look to see if the results have been posted online. I've ran in a few races that were certified but the results were not posted online, so I could not submit a time. Chances are if the results from previous years are online, then this year it will also be online and you can submit it.

Thank you kindly! I would hate to pick one that wouldn't be valid!

Anyone have much experience recovering from stress fractures? I cracked a bone in my foot 3 weeks ago and will avoid running for another 3 weeks. I'm going to sign up for the marathon on the 26, not knowing how my foot will hold up once I resume training.

I suffered a very bad stress fracture in my left foot in the middle of November last year. Had to defer my Dopey to 2017. I couldn't run a step for over 3 months. I am now back up to 25 miles per week and ran an 8 miler this morning.

You will be fine as long as you take the injury seriously and ramp back up your mileage slowly.

Three months? Yikes! It's only been three weeks and I'm getting stir crazy. Had to cancel a half on May 1.

Doc set me up with an insert and heel wedge for my foot to hopefully prevent a recurrence, I'm just nervous as heck about this being a lasting injury.

My problem was that my foot was fractured on a run in November but I injured it months earlier and kept running - this is what led to the fracture. The "stressed" part of the bone that broke was oven an inch long. To compound the problem, I waited weeks after the fracture to go to the doctor. I didn't run (couldn't would be the more appropriate word), but I kept walking normally on it and I needed to be in a boot. I didn't want to believe that it was broken with the Dopey so near. I was lucky that my break didn't require surgery. I just didn't want to stop running.

My point - even with the long layoff required by my stubbornness, I am still fully recovered and running again with way more time than necessary to get ready for the Dopey. You can do it - just follow doctors orders.

I THINK we have decided to forgo Goofy this year and just do the full. Then do Dopey next year. :(

Can you refresh my memory on how to use AP page for early reg if you open in incognito window? Do you go to incognito window and sign in or not? I am not finding anything on Passholder Page about early reg. If trying DVC route, do I keep going to Membership Magic page and see if any links are listed? I choked during F&W on March 22 so my hopes aren't high but I seem to forget if I go through DVC/AP or active in the initial first minutes.

Thank you so much, Ariel484. I don't understand the need for Incognito but it is the only way to get PH page up. It's like they really don't want us to see the benefits of being a PH. ;-)
