Marathon Weekend 2017!

Our local Galloway leader actually asked us if my husband and I wanted to be pacers for W&D (we didn't run that this year) or for marathon weekend. I was really tempted to say yes for marathon weekend, but I've had such a problem-prone training season this year, I don't feel confident to pace a race. But, if Galloway keeps offering pacers, then Chris and I will definitely be looking to do it one of these years.
Thats cool!

Great... so when I call to try and transfer her to the half, most likely they won't know what I am talking about? Or will tell me it is too late? Grrrr I don't want to register her then be out the money if they won't let me transfer her when I call. So the suggestion is if they tell me no, just keep calling back until I get a cast member who says yes? :confused3

If they don't know, maybe ask if you can talk to someone from Active like @MommaoffherRocker mentioned. They are the ones actually doing the tranfers (which I think is what @PrincessV is referencing).

I actually asked someone on the phone if they worked for runDisney when I was trying to call rD customer service and they said no. Made me think it was a kid in the CP or something.

You can certainly try calling... I just don't know that you're ever going to get rock-solid information. I'm not sure who you actually get at the email address on the transfer form - whether that's rD, Active or TrackShack. But they're the only ones who can approve and process transfers. So my advice is to email them with any questions re: transferring. (You can find the form on rD under the Registration tab, Registration Policy, Request a Transfer.) I can say that the only way to do a transfer is to complete the form and follow its instructions: you can't do them over the phone. So long as the race you want is still open, you have to register for it, then submit the transfer form, then wait...

Here's another link to watch too ...

that's what I was checking last week and it wasn't populated with 2017 yet...so this might be getting updated soon, hoping.

btw, it looks different in MOBILE version (on your phone) vs on your desktop...in the Mobile version it gives you the option to select DOPEY/GOOFY, etc but in destop it does not. I suspect that the Mobile version will work first again (if I recall correctly from last year).

I was just going to type what @PrincessV said, you have to submit the form by email or fax. I just called because it is way past the 2 weeks it says it will take to get my money back. I haven't been told it was too late so I think you're ok there.

What I'm not sure about is how that will work since they look like they are ready to populate the database with bib numbers...that makes me think they have already been assigned. So if that is the case she'll want to be ready with a printout to take to Runner Relations at the expo. Not sure what they'll do for her if she needs to see them.

Based on my experience registering last minute for PDC and DDD, it seems like they have extra bib numbers for each corral. Even though I was well past the cutoff date - in fact I registered on the absolute last day of registrations for both and PDC was a transfer from half to challenge - I was placed in the right corral based on my POT.

Good!

This is definitely true. I handed out bibs for the W&D Half (Corrals D through H), and there were easily 20-50 blank bibs at the end of each corral.

Also, my guess is either tomorrow or Friday for bib numbers. I doubt it's Thursday because of early registration for DLH Weekend.
Some on Facebook said they thought they would wait until after DLH registration altogether so sometime after next Tuesday.

I know. I've been doing my best to find them, but I think rD is on to me at this point. My IP totally got blacklisted at some point between when I went to bed this morning and woke up - an easy thing to fix. It's just weird because I wasn't doing anything too crazy or that anyone can go and look at, if they know what they're looking for.

¯\_(ツ)_/¯

OMG, that's nuts! I mean I get it, but that's still crazy. Well I guess we've waited since April when we signed up, so what's a few more days, right? I appreciate all your hard work.

BTW, love the hand-drawn emoji!

This is what I get when I go on the page now

I'm mostly impressed at how nonchalant Keels is about fixing an IP that is blacklisted. I'd have no clue how to fix that. :worship:

And while true that we've waited since April, I DON'T WANT TO WAIT A FEW MORE DAYS!!! :sad1:

When I called, the first person told me that you couldn't transfer down in distance, despite the website saying something about refunds when transferring down if that race fee was less. When we called back a few minutes later, we were told it wasn't a problem. That they had just received new information based on the half being open again. We didn't do anything over the phone. We were told to register for the half, then fill out the transfer form and submit it via email.

@Tinkerbelle14 did you submit your transfer form by email, fax or did you call them?
I submitted it via email. Asked for confirmation of receipt and, of course, haven't heard anything yet. Keep reminding myself that the important thing is that Hubby and I have a confirmation email registering us for the half. If I have to battle them later for the marathon refund, I'll deal with that then.

Thanks so much! I will submit the form tomorrow after I register her!
