Marathon Weekend 2017!

Billy, you've stated that you don't drink alcohol and I respect that - otherwise I'd offer to buy you a drink. So instead I'll offer to buy your wife a drink...

LOL! She'd be all over that. Although, admittedly she is a lightweight now these days. :drinking1

Do you have a spreadsheet to organize and reference your other spreadsheets? That's when you know you have a real problem.

I don't. But now that you mention it... :scratchin

Yeah 3:45-4:00 am for me.
I always say I will "sleep in" til 3 or 3:30am but I'm up by 2:15 with nerves. We are staying at Beach Club this time and I'm hoping it will allow me to sleep in a little more.

We usually get up around 2:30 but have been off-site. We are also staying at Beach Club, so I'm hoping to sleep a bit longer as well.

Whew! I don't shower before my long runs and my pre-run meal is a clif bar (which I'll probably eat on the bus). As long as my gear is set out the night before, all I'll have to do is get dressed, brush my teeth and be out the door.

I'll be in bed by 9 the night before the race, but I'm guessing all of the excitement won't lead to a very productive night of sleep.

We're at "Da Club" too! Come join our Saturday pre-Marathon pool party!!

Thanks I think I will! We arrive Friday night so I'm hitting the expo Saturday, then the plan is for me to relax at the pool and NOT be lured by my family into the parks. Except maybe to load up on pastries/crepes in France. Carbo loading you see.

That sounds like the perfect pre-marathon plan!

Hi everybody! I've been a lurker for years but decided to join in. Training for my 3rd Disney World Marathon this January. I feel like I know everybody already!

Welcome! Glad you have decided to join!

And per the other conversation, I am in the get up around 2:30-2:45 group. But be careful, last year the lines to get through the bag check on Marathon morning got really bad. I slept a little late that day and ended up running having to run to my corral and it started moving towards the start line with in 5 minutes of arriving. Much to close for my taste!

Thanks so much to all for sharing your post-half, pre-full Dopey experiences!!! Really helpful in planning the day!

I have a tentative plan, so we'll see how it goes - welcome more suggestions. I'm with @DopeyBadger in training so that I can still participate in family activities - did that for the 2015 marathon and again this round. (The only wrinkle is when it's really hot or humid - I ran a trail half marathon in early September that wiped me out a bit.) I'll definitely bring my own chocolate milk (we get used to having it at the finish here!) Bus to BWI, shower, then a slow walk over to DHS with my family. We have a lunch ADR at HBD, but I'm still not sure about that one. A couple rides, then some down time in the afternoon. We have an early dinner ADR at Yachtsman because it's close and I'm hoping chicken is still on the menu. Please wish me luck getting to sleep at 8pm! I think I'm sending my family to the lounge or back to DHS!
