Marathon Training Thread for 7/11-7/17

Home from Sedona, safe and sound!

Did a nice walk on Saturday, but only 1 1/2 miles as we didn't head out till noon and it was about 87%, so we cut the walk short and went back and hit the swimming pool! The walk was up and down hills though, so it was very arobic. ::yes:: Meals were pretty much on plan, but did have a dessert Sat after dinner and Sunday with lunch (which had been in the plan). Very nice treats and they'll hold me over for four weeks till the next treat to be enjoyed on a visit to Coronado Island.

Tomorrow is the day I decide about the 10K at WDW in October. I'm very much leaning towards it, as it's about half the length of the 1/2 Marathon being done about halfway between now and Marathon date. I'm concerned about not being able to keep the pace required, but I think it's more important for me to have this mini-goal and to have the experience of a race than it is to worry about completing the race in the time alloted.

Ran 10.5 yesterday, for a total of running 28 miles last week. The eating plan (or should I say "not drinking wine" plan) is my weakness! I did meet my strength training goals! On to another week! ::yes::

I'm jealous, too!!! I keep meaning to make a trip to Sedona but everytime vacation time rolls around I head back to WDW!!!

Wow Pixiechick you ran 10.5 miles! That is so inspiring! I did a run/walk of 4 miles yesteday. It was awfully hot so I was happy with that.

Keep up the great work everybody ::yes::
 
Hey all,

You all have been so busy lately! I don't know how I let myself fall off the wagon so hard. Today is day 1 back on track. I can do it. I know it! I worked so hard this past year getting to where I am that I can't loose all I have worked for. I am going to committ to doing 1/2 hour on the treadmill tonight.

Thank you Cheryl, Molli & Colleen (PixieChick) for the PM's of encouragement and letting me know that I am missed here. This board is truly the greatest thing that has ever existed.

I think it's easy to not come to these boards when your not doing well with the diet/exercise because you tend to feel guilty/ashamed that it's easier to not face it because of that. Thanks to everyone for being here.
