Marathon same weekend we leave on cruise, hotel help.

I've just learned that one of the big Disney Runs will be the same weekend we leave on our next cruise. Pretty sure that will price me out of the Little Mermaid room I'd planned on getting plus really anything in Orlando. Has anyone had experience with these weekends and where did you end up staying? I'm not a fan of paying over $150 a night unless there is transportation included.

Which weekend?

(In case that seems to be a silly question, many people refer to any distance as a marathon. So I’m not going to assume the OP is talking about January, when the only rundisney actual marathon is held)

Maybe consider staying the night before in Port Canaveral instead of at WDW. There are some nice hotels available that offer shuttle services from airport to hotel and from hotel to port. I think Radisson Port Canaveral does.
