DW and I will start training for Marathon Weekend next month (her for the 1/2, me for the full). First of all, can you all believe that its almost time to start training!!!!!!!:cool1: I'm really getting fired up about it. I have a couple of question to ask the experienced WDW Marathon Weekend WISHer's.

First, DW and I will be running for a charity so we will not have WISH shirts. I would love to wear something on the course so you lovely people will talk to me along the way so we can help each other forget about the pain temporarily. Any ideas????

Second, I noticed that Cliff bar was one of the sponsors so I'm assuming that Cliff bars and shots will be given out along the way. We want to train with what will be there so . Does anyone have any idea what type (if any) sport drink will be available en route?

Thanks for the help, ya'll!!!

I can help with a couple of questions.

Clif is a sponsor but only has gels(no bars) on the course. If you are slower, don't expect to see them at the aid station outside AK. You will see wrappers on the ground showing someone had some:( I pack my own gels and Clif Protein Bars

Powerade is the electrolyte beverage of choice(Disney is a Coke Park). In 07, there was an issue of water and Powerade on course(not any) so I always pack a water bottle pack just in case.

BamaEd: I have a suggestion for what to wear. There might be a hat order going out before the Jan. Marathon weekend. I got the Heatsweats Visor and I love it. That way you could have something WISH on. I think Lynne is in charge of hat orders screen name is xterratri. CHeck with her and see when the next order goes out.

I was on both teams last year! I was part of Team in Training and raised money for Leukemia, so I had my purple team shirt on, plus I'm a WISHer, so I proudly wore my lime/yellowish WISH hat. I had the best of both worlds. ;) As far as what Disney has at the aide stations I don't remember....sorry.

Enjoy!

I have run 7 years in a row. I have never seen them out of anything. You only get cliff gel packs outside of AK around mile 16. They have plenty of other stuff like bananas and oranges at the 13.5 turn towards AK. Green Poweraid & water is all you get to drink. It's all Coke products. Best of Luck.
