We plan to use a resort bus to get to AK, from the Poly, (early) on the morning of the marathon. My assumption is that the bus drivers will be well aware of alternate routes to get around the marathon course, and that while the trip will take longer than it typically would, we won't have any significant delays in getting there.

Would you agree?

Actually, I would term the delays potentially significant. Expect it to take an extra half hour.

Buses may not be running to the Poly, depending on the time you leave and just how badly congested is 7 Seas Dr. You may need to walk or take the monorail to the TTC to get a bus. Walking would definitely be faster, which would add another 15 minutes onto the travel time.

Even if buses are running to the hotel, if you see a huge crowd at the bus stop, you might be better off walking to the TTC.

I don't know what the plans are for this weekend, but in the past, during some races buses have loaded at the TTC tram loading area instead of the usual bus area. Just be prepared to be flexible & patient, and watch for temporary signage and transportation cast and managers giving directions.
