Was this a one-time promotion for 2011? I haven't seen anything on it either way for 2012. Which kind of implies it's not available.

Thanks in advance for any info!

There has been no official announcement either way. I would assume it won't happen until it is announced as opposed to count on it when purchasing tickets.

Thanks. I expected that if they were doing it, it would listed as one of the perks along with "long-sleeved technical t-shirt" or whatever is being offered. :)

Just a note, marathon monday was first mentioned in an email from runDisney on 6/1/2010. So we're already 3 months after that date.

Thank you crewmatt. I went ahead and signed up for a different marathon. It's not the marathon itself that's expensive but having the overall Disney experience I'd want would be. That's why I was looking for every little advantage. Maybe I'll be there in 2013. :)

Is it replaced by the "pasta in the park" party on the Thursday night before? Or did they do that last year?

I believe that was there last year as well. Its just an add on (like race retreat). Marathon Monday was free for anyone who completed the marathon on Sunday.

They have discounts on the tickets so you aren't paying full price for everything. But, it can be expensive if you want to stay on Disney Property and participate in everything like a traditional Disney vacation. So, hopefully you can save up enough to participate in 2013. Because it will be the 20th Anniversary which will be one not to miss and I anticipate will fill up in record time due to that. You can still run the Disney races on a budget. :)

But I don't want to do it on a budget. :) My only visit to Disney was last summer, off property, meals were crackers and peanut butter in the room, and for my next trip I want it ALL. ;) Or at least a little more. I'm running in Las Vegas instead, where I can stay in a cheap room etc. without feeling like I'm missing anything. I do feel bad about one thing. If I went to Florida I could visit my college student daughter. Bad mommy!

OMG!!! Your dogs are so precious!! Have you heard about the cost of discount ticket prices this year? We are running to raise money for a charity, and we have yet to get the ticket prices yet. I think last year a 4 day ticket was about $184.

When I called in August for our room and dining plan and park tickets, I asked for the Marathon rate and they just gave me the rates I saw online (regular rates). Do tell if you have found any discounts, on ANYthing. Thanks!

Do you have a phone number we can call to find out about the discounted park tickets? I would love to save some money because park tickets for three people for 4 days is like $800 or something crazy high.

I called the Run Disney number today. The cast member spent 10 minutes with me and said that there is indeed a package called "Marathon" but the prices were the exact same as I'd already booked. I booked by calling WDW in early August and got the exact same prices as I would have I'd reserved online. If someone else gets another answer, please do share. Thanks!:)

From what I read on the ESPN rundisney website, there are discounted park tickets and sometimes room rates available for all the other races EXCEPT the WDW Marathon Weekend. The details for these are listed under the Travel Details tab on each race's info page. I guess the marathon weekend is big enough that they don't feel they need to offer those incentives.
