Marathon and Park Tickets

I heard a rumor somewhere that the marathon finishers received a 1 day park ticket for finishing. Is there any truth to that?

Nope. You do get a really cool medal!

ETA - I did read that race volunteers got a one day pass....

Race volunteers do get a 1 day (With expiration/no park hopping--but hey...FREE!!!) pass.

They also usually get a jacket of some kind.

The only free park time racers get is when they are running through them.

Do you know if you can volunteer to help out at the marathon if you are running the 1/2 the day before? I think it would be fun to cheer everyone and help pass out stuff etc. Just curious if anyone has done that before.
