Mar. 19, 2009 Wonder: Aye, But We're Loved by Our Mummies and Dads

I was wondering if anyone would seriously like to do the FE's from this meet? I'm keeping my options open but if there are several takers I need to get my FE made. (I've looked and looked on this board but cannot seem to find anyone to make one) (although I've found a bevy of talented people to do custom work for the magnets/tee shirts. yay)

I've been buying up stuff for FE's....just in case....and I need to know whether or not to stop. :crazy2:

Also, who here is going to dress up on pirates nite?? (we do have one, don't we?) dd has stuff to wear and I'm looking for a shirt right now for dh. I bought myself a shirt, belt and skirt, just in case...oh and bandanas, a hat, earrings....I am still looking for parrots though. :rotfl:

I think pirates nite would be fun but I'd hate to be the only people dressed up.

I don't think I will be able to make a FE before we go.

But, we DO plan on dressing up for pirates night. I'm trying to figure how that will work for me and DH though. We are eating at Palo from 6-8pm. I don't know how they feel about pirate attire with the dress code? pirate:

Due to luggage issues, we are not planning on doing FE this time, maybe once we see how much/little space we have this time we may decide to do it next time. DD 20 is planning to dress up for pirate night I am not simply again because of luggage restrictions.

I also tried to do the countdown thing and DD tried to help she is the computer guru of the family and neither one of us could get it to work, it would copy all the numbers/letters but would not actually show up in the post, I too may not have enough posts for it to work. Counting the days till we cruise. :cheer2:

I'm glad you found some snorkels/masks. Which Target did you go to? I went to the one in Mansfield today and the didn't have any.

I found them at the Target in Montgomery Plaza--close to downtown. Have you been there yet? I think it's very nice.:thumbsup2 The newer ones always are. They had quite a few.

As much as I would love to do the FE, I don't think I'll have time to make anything up. I've been picking up things for the kids to give out to friends they meet on the boat at the end of the cruise, but that's about it.

Well, if no one cares to do FE's this time around I may just do what you are planning to do since I have some stuff. I guess I'll quit buying. With all the spending I'm doing lately it seems to me I'm stimulating the economy on my own without a stimulus package. :lmao:

Molly,

I guess I need to check that. I don't know where SSR is and are we suppose to go there from the Poly? (where we are staying) geez. I need to get back into Disney mode now that dd's bday stuff is over.

Kim did a good job on the magnets!

You have to get from the Poly to Saratoga Springs?????? It is next to Downtown Disney, quite a haul from the Poly. I would say you would need to take a cab. We switched hotels mid stay last July and we went to the bell hop to call a cab and he was nice enough to load us up in the resort van and drive us over. It was great! I wonder why you couldn't be picked up at Wilderness Lodge....it is a lot closer and I know they pick up from there???:drive:

Also, I love the door magnets.>

Well, I'm confused but I found this info. on another thread :) :

Here is a list of all resorts that DCL picks up from.

Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa

Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge

Disney's Beach Club Resort

Disney's Polynesian Resort

Disney's Saratoga Springs Resort and Spa

Walt Disney World Dolphin Hotel

Walt Disney World Swan Hotel

Disney's Port Orleans Resort - Riverside

Disney's Port Orleans Resort - French Quarter

Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort

So, it looks like they will pick us up at the Polynesian. I understand it can be a long bus ride. ugh.

Too funny...the list you found doesn't include our resort. I would call DCL directly because they are the ones that schedule transfers, not your resort. I think it is about an hour ride to the port, without any type of traffic issues. We looked into renting a car to the port but it seemed like a lot of work to pick up a car, drive ourselves, drop the car off and then do it all again three days later. I'm on vacation, let someone else do it all.:flower3:

Thanks, Viv! I went this morning and bought all 4 of us a set. :)
Did you get your daughter the one in the bag with the flippers?

All is forgiven! I don't have a countdown....and when I saw yours I was shocked....only 48 days left!!! My shorts are a little on the tight side....I need to lay off desserts until we leave. We are also doing the deluxe dining plan at the parks....we will be nice and plump when we board!

I still haven't shopped for a bathing suit. I'm convinced the last 10 lbs of "baby weight" (how long do I get to claim it as such? :lmao:) is going to slip off any day now.

<sigh> If only it would warm up!

Did you see this thread? http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2078097 New dining room menus debut a week before we set sail, so don't waste too much time looking at menus in advance. I hope it's all yummy!

So who else has had anxiety dreams or nightmares about the cruise? I just had my second one. In my first dream, we'd boarded early and then got off the ship to go visit a college friend who (in my dream, not in real life) lived a few miles from port. We were still at her house when the ship set sail! In my second dream, DH had to drive back home to grab our birth certificates. (In my dream this only took about an hour, in real life, it would take all day.) Then, when he joined us at the port, he looked awful :crazy2: like he was coming down with a stomach flu. :scared:

LOL, no nightmares yet, but you reminded me that I need to request DH's birth certificate.

Hey, is anyone concerned about their married driver's license name not matching up with their maiden name on the birth certificate? Will that be an issue? Do I need to find the marriage certificate???

I never thought of the names not matching! It wasn't a problem for me in 2002.

Guess what? We'll be in Palo that night too! Our ressie is for 7:30.

I need to vent a little...Hope ya'll don't mind. (Yes, I said ya'll...what can I say...right now I'm just a frustrated Texas girl)

So, we changed our plans to do Universal prior to the cruise. (Instead of the dolphin encounter) Now, my husband is telling me that his back is bothering him again. He has 2 bulging discs in his lumbar spine. I wasn't going to agree to do Universal, because he has had a history of back trouble. I questioned him over and over before I purchased the tickets yesterday...which of course are non-refundable. He insisted that he would be fine. So, today he tells me that he has made an appointment with an orthopedic surgeon because he has been getting some numbness down his leg. RRRH! God bless him. I love him dearly. But, I sure do not want him to get on a ride and mess his back up even more prior to going on the cruise.

Anybody have any ideas? Anybody can relate? :headache:

Thanks for listening. I feel better.
