Mar. 19, 2009 Wonder: Aye, But We're Loved by Our Mummies and Dads

Hello, neighbor! What a small world. We are from North Texas, also.

We considered staying on board for the same reason as you (short trip). However, I know the kids would love to interact with the dolphins. I figure this may be our only opportunity.

We will need to get more info about the pirate party from the others here. I just heard it was a really good time. We might dress up. I have been told some of the families enjoy doing this.

What are Fish Extenders? I've heard about the magnets. Do you make your own?

Stephanie

Wow, I tried getting to this board earlier but could not, no way, no how! :) (it was off line to me for some reason)

I think the dolphins would be fun but we have already spent a small mint on this trip and another $600+ for dolphin fun is just a bit more than we wanted to spend. Plus, I love sitting on deck and reading. I have a stack of books I've yet to read and dd and dh love being in the pool.

I'm looking into at least getting me and dh pirate shirts--dd has pirate stuff.

I booked, yesterday, our character breakfast at the Poly, our luau, and lunch at Coral Reef in Epcot. Had a hard time trying to get a Castle meal. We may just have to forego that one. (we are staying at the Poly from Sun-Th)

I'm getting excited but a bit overwhelmed. I went online last night to bathing suit shop. horrors! :rotfl: I know I'm going to end up packing way too much.

Well, fish extenders....I'm new to this but will try to explain (what I know--anyone else, please jump in) You have this holder that hangs on the fish outside of your cabin door and other people--who I guess you agree to do this with---will come by and leave little gifts in them and you do the same for them. I'm guessing most of the stuff is Disney related and mostly for the kiddos. How does that sound experienced people?? I've bought a few things in the event some of us want to do FE's

Magnets.....I've never done them but I have been doing research and have had a few things made for me by DISers and I will make some stuff for our door. It seems like fun. Are you going to make some?

I think so. Phoebe's kind of shy at first but she warms up quickly, and she **loves** making new friends and playing with other kids. I think she'll really loves the kids club if she gives them a try. Unfortunately, she's very stubborn and once she has it in her mind not to do something, it's hard to change her mind. I know, however, that she'd much rather spend the day hanging out with kids than with her baby sister!

Well, that's great. We'll try to meet on board...maybe the first day?? Maggie is a bit shy at first also but does warm up and just loves playing with other kiddos.

I just wanted to see if everyone else is as excited as we are?:yay: :woohoo:

Yes! and I'd like to ask you how you got the count down thing on your messages. I went to mickeypath, did it and have my links...only now how do I use it??? and will it show up every time I post or do I have to paste it on after each post?

Thanks,
~v

Add 3 more to your list. DD, Emma, loves the kids club and would rather be around "peeps" her own age (will be almost 5 when we sail) than boring old mom and dad. We are stayin at VWL Sat-Thur.

We were also booked at SSR and were lucky enough to get our DVC choice at WVL....we booked this kind of late.

We are also late dining......gives us time to relax/snooze before the show and dinner.:dance3:

Welcome, Molly. Looking foward to getting to know you. I'm Vivian, dh-James and Maggie(dd) is 6 this month. We booked kind of late also so I'm having to cram a lot of info. in my brain in what seems to be a short amount of time. :crazy2:

I'm not very "tech savy", but I'll try to explain it to you!!

After you've created your ticker, you select and highlight the one that's for forums(there's 3 different ones, so make sure it's the right one), they'll have suggestions on where each type goes. Then you open your control panel on the dis board site, and go to edit your signature. Paste in in there, then you can preview if you want and save it. Voila!! I hope I got that right!!

You will love the Lilo and Stitch breakfast at the Poly and the Coral Reef, we eat there every time we go to Epcot. Keep trying for the castle, it really is amazing!! I have 2 boys and even though they didn't care too much for the princesses, the being in the castle was amazing. Good Luck!!

We are booked and can't wait to go!!
We have 2 kids - Tyler (5) and Kaylee (1).
It is going to be a surprise for them. I am not going to tell until we can actually see the ship.
We are staying at Coronado Springs before - can't wait, have never stayed there before!!

Thanks for the warm welcome, Txgirl1! This is our 6th trip to the world, but our first Disney cruise. We usually sail on Royal Caribbean, but the kids sail free was too great of an offer to pass up. It will be fun to have a comparison.

We booked the dolphin encounter in Nassau....I think more for me than anybody else.....I am the animal nut in our family. (3 dogs and 1 cat!) The aqua park at Atlantis looked awesome, but DD isn't tall enough for most of the slides and I'm a little worried that it could still be somewhat cool in March. DH and I have Palo booked for Friday night, looking forward to that. We are also using the kids club at VWL for a night or two so we can all get a little break. I'm very excited, as is everyone on here!!!!

Hi there Molly, my DD (20) and I are also doing the Atlantis dolphin encounter this one was of the first things we decided upon. Are you doing Atlantis Report encounter or Blue Lagoon? We opted for Atlantis resort because we wanted to tour the resort anyway and thought this would save us some travel time to and from since we were going there anyway.

This is our first cruise ever, we love WDW and have wanted to cruise for a while. Finally decided to surprise DD for Christmas with a spring break land and sea package. :cheer2:

Hi auntyaba....we are doing the Blue Lagoon dolphin encounter. What really caught my eye was the sea lion encounter, but DD is not old enough. I would love to tour Atlantis, but I think the waterpark area would be so enticing to Emma, and she woudln't be able to do it.

Your first cruise? You are going to love it. The other cruise lines have a bit more for the 18+ crowd, but I've heard DCL is service, service, service. I do have a problem with motion sickness, so I'm taking Bonine 24 hrs before embarkation and will use it all three days. I have heard leaving Pt. Canaveral can be a bit rough.

Hello MollyMcDaniel! We are going to do the dolphin encounter also. We are going on the 9:30am trip. Which did you pick? It sounds like we will have alot of fun.

Has anyone gone at this time of the year before? Specifically, does anybody know how the water temp will be this time of the year?

Was 9:30 an option? I only saw 8:30 and 10:30. We booked the 10:30. Not sure about water temp. I'm hoping if chilly we can just tough it out for a bit.:beach:

We cruised last March on the Magic. :beach: I know the day we were at Castaway Cay the water temp was in the low 70's. It was way to cold for us to get in the water(DH & I). My kids were in the water though. I just really depends where you are from. Us being from the South are used to the water being really warm. I'm sure the water at Nassau will be about the same.

I cannot wait!!! I'm so excited!! I'll try to get some pics of our door decorations from last March. I didn't do a fish extender because there were only 4 families that met at the meet.

Lee Ann :thumbsup2

Ok, Here is my first attempt at posting a picture:

Thank you....I'll try that one later. I just wanted to check in on the board before I head to sleepy-land. :)

My kids were practically the only ones in the pool.

Yeah, I'm a bit concerned about the temperature of the water too. (as per other posts) Well, we'll see what we can do. I hope the water in the ship's pools are fairly warm.
