Mar. 13, 2010 Eastern Magic - "Caribbean Amphibians"

Looking at our 3/13/2010 Eastern, Day 4 (St. Maarten) is missing.:confused3 The only excursions listed are for St Thomas & Castaway Cay. When you go to book Palo or Spa reservations the following is listed where the location normally is 'SXM code not in CMS'. The 'My Itinerary" column also does not list a port for Day 4? There doesn't show to be any change when you look under 'book a new cruise'. Has anyone heard if there is a change in the works?

I noticed this as well. However when you go into the excursions tab you can make reservations for excursions in St Maarten. Not sure what is going on. Maybe a glitch in the computer system?

I am so happy! I was able to book Spa and Palo reservations for my husband and I for our anniversary on March 17! Now I'm off to bed. Hope everyone else was able to book their desired reservations.
75 days left til we cruise!!!:cool1:

Palo and St John reservations have been made!

St. Maarten is still missing this morning. I will have to check in later to see about our excursion there.

Arugh..the Disney Cruise website is soooooooo slow! Trying to make Flounders reservations and it is taking forever to load.

Has anyone made a packing list yet?
I could use some advice from previous cruisers on this as we want to pack light due to our long drive and trying to fit luggage for 6 in our van.
Thanks, 74 more sleeps!!!:beach:

Lol I always over pack. I rather have it and not need it, than not have it and need it. Im always sitting on my suitcase to get it to close!!!:rotfl2:

My TA confirmed through Disney we are still headed to St. Maarten.

Also - if any of you are booked in Cat 11 guarantees - Cat 12's have been opened back up on our sailing. I downgraded and saved $460 if any others are looking to be budget minded for this sailing!

Ohhh- maybe we're getting a double dip at CC?

Packing:

I do have to get started as I start hoarding stuff away for months before.

A couple hints I remember:
Bring a renuzit air freshener for the bathroom when the cruise is about half-way done as the septic system starts to waft

Roll clothes in plastic cleaners bags to avoid wrinkles and make the most of space (I refuse to do laundry when I'm on vacay on a cruise!)

Bring highlighters in two diff colors for choosing kids and adult activities on the navigators

Buy pins ahead of time to trade on board

I learned this the hard way - bring 1.5 containers of sunscreen for every day of the cruise. On the islands - one canister of sunscreen is a minimum of $14!

Bring a large cardboard envelope in case you buy pictures or posters or want to store something flat

Bring and over-the-door shoe sholder to store each person's lanyard and personal stuff as there's no counter room in the bathroom.

TELL THE ROOM HOST TO REMOVE YOUR BEDSPREAD as they're not washed regularly and are teeming with germs.

Buy a tiny container of lysol and spray before unloading your stuff into the room.

More to come.....

Happy New Year everyone! Only 69 days to go! :cool1:
We're settling in for an easy day as DD is doing the laundry :laundy: while I'm relaxing at the computer. :surfweb:
We were just in Buffalo for a little post-Boxing Day shopping. Crossing the border into the U.S. took a long time, but it was worth it! Found some very fun gifts for the FE exchange, which started to get us all in the mood.
All the best to you and yours!

Ranidayz,
Thanks for the packing list start up. I am going shopping today and will keep my eye out. Also, just checking how many families we have for our FE as I want to start putting stuff together soon.
Thanks!

did you get the email i sent out to everyone who signed up for FE?

Hi, and happy new year!
We didn't get an email, but I've sent the info to you in a PM -- my fault, because I believe I omitted that when I first sent you our info!
Best,

paper

OK - now I'm really getting excited. Last night I started transferring over my written packing list from the last cruise onto the computer for ease....so glad I kept it!

Today I'll start garnishing little peices of the fam's wardrobe for the cruise for packing...they won't even miss them, but I'll get to check a couple things off a day!

And last night, I realized that in the fall, when there were tons of sunscreen coupons out, I already bought all the sunscreen for the cruise - yay! That can be a major expense all at one time. Last cruise, we were a bottle short and DH and I were lobsters after the second island.

67 days to go!

I ordered Caribbean Ampbibian T-Shirts from a local printer today - I expect they will be a great souvenir before we ever start. We'll likely wear ours for embarkation.

Got $460 in savings, so now we have hotel rooms for the day prior and day after covered, that will help (we don't fly home until Sunday). I think I just about have enough Mypoints saved up to pay for rental cars as well. So, now, its time to hunker down and survive our coldest week of the year (and as Texans, admittedly 15 for a low is not that bad - but we hate this stuff!).

The highest it has been here today is 23 degrees. Thats weird for TN.:confused3 I can't wait to get down to Florida where its nice and warm.:beach:

I am so torn between two excursions on St. Thomas: the Buckeye Catamaran Sail and Snorkel 3.5 hours, or the Full Day Caribbean Sail & Snorkel to Turtle Cove & Honeymoon 6.5 hours.

We'd be leaving the baby on board at Flounders ($6 an hour, yousa), so that's part of the dilemma. I'm not sure how I feel about leaving her for the whole day.

Has anyone done one of these excursions before? I'd love to hear your thoughts on them.

Thanks!
