Mar. 13, 2010 Eastern Magic - "Caribbean Amphibians"

I was just reading up on the main cruise board, where they say the new villains show will have its debut in late March. And apparently the cast for the Golden Mickeys departs Feb. 27, which leaves us with a variety show or additional movie. Have to confess I'm a bit disappointed; since this is our first Disney cruise I was hoping for the full experience. Ah well.

And a question for you lucky returning cruisers: were you able to make your Palo/shore excursion bookings with ease? I'm still debating whether it will be worth staying up 'til midnight to make the booking at that 75-day mark. Plus the way things are going, we can't decide on the shore stuff anyway!

I was hoping that they would try out the new show with us!:confused3:banana:

I hope that isn't true,,,,my son would love to see the new villan show. What a drag...not even the original show?? That just doesn't seem fair!

I did not wait for midnight to book anything. I did it mid day and even went back after the Silvers were released to do some additional planning.

I think you'll find the DIS boards have rabid fans, but they/we represent only a small portion of the actual cruisers onboard.

And if you don't get everything you want pre-cruise - go to the stations on the first day to check, they may be able to help you out.

I am holding out hope there may be some sneak peeks at the Villains show as we are only two cruises prior to the debut. If not, the variety entertainers can be quite fun.

First time cruisers here. We bought our airfare last night, flying into Tampa. That ended up being $1400 cheaper for 5 of us then flying into Orlando. Now we need to book us a room for Friday night. We were also shocked at how much the airfare was from Houston to Orlando, and the only guess I have is that it spring break time of the year.

We are looking forward to it, the boys don't know what to expect yet, so they are more excited about Santa right now.

March 13th can't come soon enough!

Woo! We got our flights this morning. :cool1: My wife figured out that we could use our miles on American, plus buy some more miles to make up what we needed AND fly 1st class for less than 2 RT Coach tickets. Yeay!
We're happy to fly 1st class from SFO to MCO, not sure if the other pax are going to be as thrilled to have an infant up front. :rotfl2:

Ahh well. The baby has done really well on her past two flights to Orlando. Here's hoping that the 3rd trip goes just as well. I'm just happy that we have our flights. It makes the trip more real for some reason. I think this calls for a: :banana:

Welcome aboard GJR - fellow Texans!!

We too are flying into Tampa on Friday - airfare was just horrific to Orlando - Spring Break is killing us!

We have found hotels in Tampa - not sure if I got the right deals though given we are supposed to land at 12:15 AM Saturday morning. We'll see - we hope to fly standby earlier that night to arrive sooner!

We got a lot of snow today!!!:) And we just got our 2010 DCL
DVD and brochure. The DVD is almost as exciting as the docs.:thumbsup2 Were only 2 months and 23 days away:woohoo::cheer2: and Christmas is only a week away!!!!

Hey folks,
My big event is over - went amazingly! So now I'm back to cruise all day and cruise all night brain!

Reminder - if you want to participate in the Fish Extenders Exchange, please submit the information requested in the first post of this thread AND introduce yourself and participate a little so we can all get to know each other a little better.

Currently - for our FE, we have:
8 cabins
11 children
15 adults
5 family groupspirate:

In case it wasn't already posted, here are some instructions for making a typical FE:

Home made using Iron on transfer paper that prints on our home ink jet printer.
You need 1/4 yard of fabric, iron interfacing, wide double fold bias tape, and a 3/8" dowel 8" long.

Pockets are 11" X 5 1/2"
Back is 32" X 8"

Cut out backing and pockets then iron on interfacing.
Sew bias tape on top of pocket
pleat once on each side and pin bottom of pocket so that it is 8" wide.
baste, then pin bias tape on bottom and sew on
Pin pockets on backing and sew bottom of pocket to backing
Pin and baste around entire outside of project.
Pin then sew bias tape around outside edge of whole fish extender
fold top over leaving room for you dowel at top and sew along the inside of bias tape down each side to secure.

Ranidaz,
Thanks for posting the instructions. I am hoping to work on making our FE with the kids over the Christmas break.

I'm 15, so sam-ish. Hope to see you @ the stack.:thumbsup2

just told DH that come Jan 2 - I'm in cruise mode all day and all night!` can't wait!

when you're making your lists - don't forget to stop at home depot and get some of the flourescent lime green Mickey Mouse paint chips so we can all identify each other. Put them back to back, write luggage info on them (include your DIS name) and laminate (or use clear contact paper) so we can identify one another even in the terminal....:wizard:

Its not so bad that Christmas is over when our cruise is only 2 months ans 15 days away!!!:thumbsup2 I can't wait till I get the docs in the mail!:woohoo:
And this wed. DCL is on the travel channel.:yay:
