LOL! Did you post this for me? You know I have a horrible sense of direction.

It looks like the incident happened in what I would term the "heart" of Texas. I know many hearts, including yours JTB, is affected by all this. {{hugs}}

It seems like it may have happened somewhere over the Palestine area just to the east of Highway 45. Or at least some big part of it.

Shannon, you think of East Texas as the "heart" of Texas? I always thought of the area around Austin and San Antonio as that but it's kind of nice to think of East Texas that way. I have a lot of family in that area.

From I've been able to glean from the news reports, it sounds like the shuttle started to come apart over the Dallas metro area and people have reported hearing and seeing a series of explosions. .


The shuttle was flying at about 200,000 feet when NASA lsot contact with it. . since there is no known weapon that can reach that altitude, and there has been no visual or radar sighting of anything other then the shuttle in the area, for now at least it looks like this was just a terrible accident. .


Debris is being fround from Plano down to north of Houston and over the state line into Louisiana, with the majority being found in the are around Nacogdoches. . .

A horrible tragedy. . . but one postitive is that so far there are no reports of anyone being injured by the fallout on the ground. .

The size of the dots show the size of the city (that's why Dallas & it's surrounding cities is called Big D)


Thankfully the military has closed of some of the larger debris areas. Reports of people taking the debris is sickening. I understand that anyone caught taking something will be federally prosecuted.
