We're going to SW San Diego next week. My DD is really looking forward to riding Manta. My concern is that I keep reading that "people of size" may not fit. I'm primarily concerned about DH- he is about 5'9" and 250. He's broad across the shoulders mostly. Just curious if similarly sized people have been able to ride.

I'm much shorter (5'3") but about the same weight, so rounder I would guess. I don't fit in the sample seat. :( But I'm working on it. They have a sample with an assistant by the entrance, you can try it out and pull the restraint down. I think you have to get the light to come on or something to know that it will lock properly.

I mainly had trouble with my abdomen (was expecting the 'girls' to get in the way but they seemed ok), so if he's more broad on top, he might be good.

My husband at 5'11 and 260 rode it several times just fine me at 5'8 and 200 lbs also was just fine. It's on the tame side when comapring it to some of the newer scary thrill rides out there but we had a blast and did it several times in a row.
