My DD is a Newsies groupie. I'm thinking of trying to take her to NYC in the fall. Has anyone stayed at The Manhattan Club? The site reviews are largely positive but I thought I would try a closer to home trusted source. TIA.

the only issue seems to be actually getting it. I looked in Feb for a weekend in Oct 2013 and nothing was showing available until January 2014.

Hope you have better luck than I did

My parents own at Manhattan Club.

Pros: Generally clean and a great location. The 1 bedrooms have 2 bathrooms.
Cons: The elevators suck. Be prepared to wait for elevators. When on your floor push BOTH up and down. If an UP elevator shows, but you want to go down, GET ON anyway. Assuming that the elevators will stop on their way back down is a huge mistake (they probably will not).

The point costs look reasonable to me, especially if you go on a weekday.

Other notes: You can access Manhattan Club via 7th Avenue through the Park Hotel (I think that is the name). There is a small door connecting to Manhattan Club. When in Manhattan Club, look for the door by the elevators. A quick explore from there will make it clearer. This is a nice trick for when you are coming up 7th. It saves a few steps so you don't have to go all the way around on 56th.

They serve Tea, Cookies and Coffee (free) in the lounge (26th Floor) in the afternoon. I think it is 2-4PM, but I'm not sure. We usually hang out there while waiting for the room to become ready.

Parking is expensive, but it's Manhattan, so you should expect that anyway.

I'm happy to answer any questions you have. We have been going for (holy moly) 15 years now.

I tried to get a reservation for July, also to take the kids to a play. I wanted one night and it was a two night minimum FYI. Just check if that is all the time (if you only want One night) or over holidays. I had hoped to book Wednesday 7/3.

Was that booking through RCI or Concierge Collection? I thought all Concierge Collection properties were available for single night bookings. ?
