Saturday 12th August ~ Day 10

Once again we were up early, we had brekkie in our room and left the Pop at 7.30am as it was EMH’s at Animal Kingdom. Now we’re not big on AK, we usually do the Kilamanjaro Safari, see a few characters and that’s usually it. But today we were going to try out Expedition Everest for the first time. Now Becky had won a voucher for a free photo from the ride, so I went to Guest Relations to exchange our print out for a voucher. We legged it to EE and Paul got FP’s for it and we also lined up for it. Well what can I say ? It was brilliant. It was fast, it went backwards and made your stomach feel that you had gone upside down (even though we hadn’t). I loved it. So we went back on again. Now our FP return was for 9am and as we wanted a FP for the safari, me and Paul went over to Harambe to get a FP and the girls went to that dreadful fair type area of Dinoland.

I bought an AK T-Shirt, we then we got our FP’s and went back to meet the girls in Dinoland before getting back on Everest. We had made a note of all our photo numbers and the CM showed them all to us and we chose our free photo.

We then went back to Harambe and rode the safari, and as it was quite early there were loads of animals around.

We had a good look around the shops and got some great piccies with Stitch. We then went into Camp Minnie/Mickey and had some photos with Minnie, Mickey and Goofy.

We were all starving and getting very hot, so we went back to Africa for dinner. We had never eaten in Tusker House before, but I can say we’ll be definitely going back for those lovely chicken dinners.

We left around midday and as usual Paul & I had a swim and sunbathe. I think today was the hottest we had out there, so I don’t think we stayed out too long. After showers etc we headed back to Super Target for supplies and Kerry bought another 2 boxsets of ‘Scrubs’.

It was about 4pm, so we decided to go to Universal Studios. We were able to ride The Mummy twice, but the line for Men In Black was outside, so we gave it a miss as it was so hot (around 96 degrees). It was probably the most uncomfortable time that we had this holiday and we really couldn’t cope with it. So we got back in the car and went to DownTown Disney. We went to McDonalds for burgers and hot fudge brownies and then we went to see Pirates of the Caribbean 2 again (we just love it).

We got home around midnight, we collapsed in bed and were asleep in no time

I ate breakfast at Tusker House and it was yummy :goodvibes

Another one not keen on Dinoland Mandy, but our Vicki loves it. Great day and really lovely photos :thumbsup2

Another great day, Mandy. Sorry to hear it was so hot though. I always think AK is too hot as it is! We finally watched POTC2 last week, great movie, can't wait for the next one.

Great report. I love Tuskers too. :thumbsup2

Glad to see you've got the photos sorted.

oooh! you've got me worried now Mandy, I was so looking forward to EE but if it gave you a feeling like you went upside down I might find it too scary. I was hoping it'd be more like BTMRR. oh, well, I suppose I have to try it for myself

No Carol. it's not scary, it's brilliant. It's just that when it goes backwards you're in the dark and it felt a bit weird. You'll love it :)

I'm loving your collection of Disney clothes. Do you wear them in the UK or just on holiday?

Glad you manage to miss Dinoland USA!

Thanks Jo, no I don't wear them over here, they're my special WDW clothes, so they get washed and put straight back into my case ready for next time ~ LOL :thumbsup2

We haven't done AK yet but we have it down for this trip. I don't think we will be there all day. Dh is really looking forward to riding Expedition everest.

Another great day :sunny:

I'm not a fan of Dinoland either! Glad you liked EE, i was terrified on it!

glad to see that you caught up with Stitch :rotfl:

Dinoland has got to be the hottest place in all of WDW

I avoid Dinoland when we go to AK.

Another great day.
