Monday 5th January 09 (High 81F)
Paul & I were up at 6.45am for EMH at Animal Kingdom (8-9am). The girls wanted a lie in, and were planning on going to Epcot for normal hours, so off we went.
We got fastpasses for Expedition Everest, and rode it twice before going on Dinosaur, then getting a fastpass for Kilamanjaro Safari. We rode both EE and the safari using our fastpasses and then had a breakfast platter at Pizzafari, before doing a spot of shopping on the way out of the park
Im sure when we got back to the room, the girls hadnt gone to Epcot, but had just chilled all morning in their room (LAZY !!!). Paul & I had a lie by the pool, and I did some washing too
When we got back to the room, the telephone was flashing with a message, I had to pick up a letter from reception. I was thrilled to find a birthday card sent from my friend Sandy, who I had met on the Disney Wonder last August. Thanks Sandy, that was a lovely surprise
In the afternoon we all went to the Florida Mall where the girls bought more jeans and trainers and then we called into Wal-Mart on the way back to the Pop for some supplies
In the evening, the girls planned to go to the Disney Hollywood Studios, as they wanted to see some shows, and me & Paul had arranged to meet up with some of his friends at the Kobe Japanese Steakhouse up near Universal Studios
Weve never been to this type of restaurant before, so we didnt know what to expect. While we waited for our friends to arrive, we looked through the menu (which didnt look very inspiring mainly steaks, chicken and sushi). Well we had a fantastic evening. Around 10 people sat around the table and we all ordered our main dish (I ordered NY strip steak and Paul had steak & chicken)
Next, our chef arrived, and he promptly served us with mushroom soup, then we were given a salad with teriyaki sauce on it. Then the chef started cooking vegetables at the hot plate in front of us, which we had with a delicious cheese sauce (Mmm). Next noodles were cooked and given to us, and then our entrees were cooked in front of us, and finally the rice
We had a really entertaining evening, as we watched the chef cook and do little tricks with the food and he kept saying Yummy, Yummy !!' The food was absolutely delicious. I wish Id thought about taking some photos while the chef was cooking, but I was just too engrossed
We had a lovely evening with our friends, and I would love to take the girls there maybe next time
