Manchester - Virgin Refitted 747

Hiya Guys

Has anyone flown on a refurbed 747 yet out of Manchester?

We are on the afternoon flight this August which is now listed as a 747. Last year we flew there and back on the new A330 which I thought were fantastic, more so due to the IFE.

I know the new planes are supposed to be all operating by the end of September and I am just sooo hoping we are on a refitted one and not one of the old

I flew out 3 weeks ago on the old 747 from Manchester to mco. Unfortunately they've only refitted 3 aircraft so far so at the moment it will still be the outdated version. However You've still got a couple of months until you go so there's every chance you might be lucky and get a refitted 747. They really are in a poor state when you compare it to the new a330.

On our return flight three weeks ago i was talking to one of the stewards and she said that they would all be done by Christmas but the Manchester ones would be the last to be finished

According to the virgin staff who run their Facebook page, only one of them is fully refurbished and back flying, one is still being refurbed and that's it so far! I don't think they will be finished for September, apparently they are running behind!
