So I just had an offer accepted for a December Use Year when I'm currently closing on a February Use Year. Did I just make a huge mistake if I want to use all the points to take the same vacation twice a year? I usually like to travel in September and May. In my head, I was thinking it was a good idea because the months are so close together. But I didn't realize one is at the very beginning and one is at the end and not just "two months apart." 🤣🤣 So I'm assuming let's say i want to use my February 2025 and December 2025 points to take a vacation may 2026... I'm going to just have to bank my February 2025 points into 2026 and then I'll have my December 2025 to use with them all together in February 2026 and the December ones wont expire until November 30 2026 and the february ones until january 31 2026? I already have a headache thinking about this and it's not too late to back out 🤣🤣

Your explanation makes my head hurt

Edit
I need to think about this for a second. lol

Ok… you can use Dec 2025 and Feb 2026 for a trip in May 2026.
Beyond that, I think you’re making it harder than needed. :)

I edited my post to add my thoughts. lol

The only real catch is different memberships so you use different contracts/memberships to book different resorts, so if you’re doing a split stay you’ll probably book one resort with one contract then book the other resort with the other contract.
Then you can combine the points at 7 months, to upgrade or add days, etc.

And February 2025 I can use too if I bank it right?

This contract also has 2024 points, I have to use that this year too right i can't bank it anymore?

It will be a PITA

February and December are as far apart as possible of 2 use years you can get and they're not spaced out well. It doesn't seem like much because December and February are only 2 months apart but let's put this into perspective from a use year standpoint.

For examples sake I'm going to use 2025. For 2025 your Feb use year runs from 2/1/25 to 1/31/26. For your December use year it runs from 12/1/2025 to 11/30/26.

This means that the only times you can use your points together from 2025 is between 12/1 of that year and 1/31/26. Otherwise if you use them after 2/1, you will have to use 2026 points from the February use year and 2025 points from the December use year. Then of course things get more complicated when you begin banking/borrowing the points. Also keep in mind if you transfer points between your use years like from your February to December use year, you will not be able to see your transferred points in your dashboard. You'll have to keep track of your points on your own for those. I own multiple use years but I would strongly advise against owning this particular combination especially if you ever plan on combining the points. It really is the worst combination of use years you can do.

I say this as someone with two UYs (June and December) I would not move forward with the December contract. I have two UY bc we truly do expect to travel to WDW year-round and I don’t feel comfortable doing so after a banking deadline…but I use the UYs for entirely different trips and never anticipate needing to combine (transfer), But your situation adds so many layers of complexity I would save yourself now. Sorry, I know that’s probably not what you want to hear. 😔

Same as above, we have multiple UY because they have specific purposes. The bulk of our points are in 1 UY, 5 contracts worth. It’s way easier to use them all together. If I were you, I would rescind this and look for a FEB UY to compliment your other contract.

I thought you were looking at direct next?

And since you can't see the points in the dashboard, does this mean you essentially have to call MS in order to actually book with the "hidden" points? Or can this still be done online somehow (like, does the "which contract would you like to these points from" still prompt up when trying to book)?

Yes, you must call member services to book with the transferred points.
