Its been a while since we've gotten one, but we used to get them frequently from servers or managers with the restaurants direct number and name to call if we wanted a table and were having trouble getting a reservation.
We've gotten them from every signature restaurant I can think of (back before the DDP). We never actually had the need to call in the card, so to speak, but I wonder now with the DDP if they do it. I can see where it would be a real benefit for some cases.
