Okay, so my children think I am awful because I killed a deer and my car is trashed. I call to report it to my insurance and the guy says, "Can you describe the accident to me." I was dumbfounded for a minute and then said, "Well, I was driving along and a deer came booking out of the woods and either it hit me or I hit it." Really and all what more was there to say. Then after gathering the names of the people in the car, the guy says, "So, were there any other witnesses besides your kids and the deer."
Uhh, no and since he is dead I don't think you are getting much out of the deer.
I called the after hours claims number and I really should have waited to talk to my agent because now I have questions like--how much is my deductible, can I get a rental while it's in the shop, etc. Bleah.

I came thisclose to hitting one the other day.....some how the Hondamobile came out unscathed and I missed the sucker. Sorry about your car.

First I want to say that I am glad everyone is Ok. I have seen a few bad accidents involving deer. It can be scary
) We've been to Estes Park at least 20 times in the 18 years I've been alive; we lived in Colorado Springs for 6 years and went up to RMNP every year. Once we got stuck in traffic while a herd of about 40 elk crossed the road. It would have been a bother but I love the Colorado wildlife.
