Man got out of his car to yell at me yesterday for not making a left fast enough!

No, I live in NYS. Honestly, I don't know if it's legal here or not. I have pulled in to the turning lane/median when it is safe, knowing I can pull into the driving lane immediately after a car passes. In this incident, I did not feel safe even doing that. There was too much traffic going in each direction. I couldn't just sit in the turning lane as he, obviously, thought I should have!

No, he was also making a left. I'm not sure where he thought he was going if the road wasn't clear enough of traffic. As soon as I made my left, he immediately gunned his engine & was right on my tail. I had pulled in to the left lane (which is what I learned you're supposed to do). When it was clear, I moved to the right lane, as I was turning right at the next signal.

Funny thing is, we both "met" at the signal at the same time. I made my right on red & he was still stuck at the signal going straight. :rotfl:

He was probably just some hot-head looking to pick a fight with anyone. But as stated earlier, people like that are scary and dangerous. You don't ever know when they will explode, as he did with you, and you were an innocent victim. You just happened to be the 'lucky' one in front of him.

Too bad there didn't happen to be a cop sitting nearby who could have seen what he did. If so, they would have nailed him.

People like the OP experienced, they don't think about what if they go nuts on someone else who is also hot headed and bang, someone is injured or dead. And over what, that your car couldn't go go gadget over the other cars?

Recently my DD & I were going to CVS near us and had to make a U-turn to get to it. At the light that we were at, you can make a U-turn, but must yield to people making a right hand turn at the intersection.

I started my U and a car made a right turn at the same time. I slowed almost to a complete stop so that I would not hit this car. The car behind me laid on his horn because I was doing exactly what the sign said.

It really aggravated me because I was doing what I was supposed to do and the car behind me was actually rushing the light.

I'm always confused when I hear about incidents such as this.. Where are people going that they have to be in such a rush all of the time? How about planning a little better - leaving ample time for heavy traffic; accidents; etc.?

Rush, rush, rush.. And what's at the "end of the road" for each and every one of us? Death.. LOL..

People could save themselves so much aggravation with a little pre-planning.. I have a hard time feeling any sympathy for people who suffer from self-inflicted stress - when they really make no effort to eliminate or change what is often times well within their control..

You handled the situation very well..:thumbsup2

I would not have rolled my windows down. I would have called 911 and not moved my car.

People like that jerk shouldn't be on the road.

I was waiting to turn out of a service station one day in California. My phone started ringing (windows down so you could hear it). This guy starts screaming at me "get off the ^&*(#$ phone".

I wanted to say "Dude - if I was answering the phone it wouldn't still be ringing." I was ignoring the phone and looking at the traffic.

Another time I was again at a service station waiting to go through the car wash when I guy pull into the car wash in front of me. You are supposed to wait so many feet back.

I had my car windows totally up so he couldn't hear me but I said some obscenity which he read my lips in the rear view mirror. The guy got out of his car and came over screaming at me "You can't say words like that to me - I'm a divinity student". I have never laughed so hard in my life.

My sister and I were together - we still use the line "Don't talk like that in front of me I'm a divinity student". I really thought the guy was going to have a heart attack he was so upset.

Reiterates to me that some drivers/people are crazy.

People need to get a grip, stop getting in a frenzy about things that aren't important & have a little patience.
