Okay I am 34 and today I hate being 34. I say today because some days it doesn't bother me, today I'm feeling bummed. Not that 34 is all that old. Is it? Please say it isn't. My ego can't take any other answer at this point.

This a.m. I had a phone conversation with my mom who was mentioning she watched a home video from 2 years ago, and how different we looked. I said "Mom it was only 2 years ago. Dh and I look the same." She says "no you both looked so young then!!"

Okay. Thanks. I feel wonderful now.

So I ask DH "Have I gotten that much older looking in just 2 years?" You know what he said? Nothing. He's no fool. ;) He just avoided the question which is fine. I wasn't really looking for an answer, it was more of a musing on my part.

I'm just having an I-feel-old day. :sad2: I wouldn't want to be a teenager again or anything like that, but I wouldn't mind stopping the aging at oh, say 29?
Tomorrow I will have forgotten all about this and be back to acting like a 10 year old even if I don't look it. :)

As a fellow 34yo :grouphug:

Dontcha sometimes wonder when you became an adult? It kinda happens when you arent looking!

Compared to some on here, you are a spring chicken! I remember 34... on those good days when my memory returns. At those times I also remember my glasses, my teeth, and my Geritol! ;)

I'm 35 and I feel old, but I don't care anymore. What bothers me is that my life may be half over already, and that's if I'm lucky. I think I have too many bad habits to ever get to see 70.

34 is definitely not "old" (from a 41 year old); however, things do start "progressing" at this point and you are in your "mid thirties" now! Ha ha! I remember feeling all those things then. But really, besides some health issues I had in my 30s, I would say that my mid to late 30s, were some of my best years.

Maybe you should treat yourself to a new haircut/highlight and some spiffy new jeans. All that stuff will make you feel young again!

I do not think 34 is old, but hey I'm 51, and generally I do not feel old. Sometimes I feel like time is going by so fast, it surprises me that my children are 23 and 18...that makes me feel old, but I it has never bothered me that I am getting older.
I look at it this way, I'm healthy, I have a great family and no one around me is getting any younger.

Age is a state of mind! You are only as old as you "feel". And I don't mean physicaly!

Ah yes, but getting old(er) is better than the alternative, no?

Maybe 10 years ago I thought 34 was old, but now that I'm 44 I sure don't! :teeth: I figure that maybe getting older isn't the most fun thing in the world, but it sure beats the alternative! I'm glad to be alive, have my health, wonderful kids, and everything else that goes along with it (well, maybe not these darn migraines, but am happy that I got a clean bill of health when I had my MRI).

I'm 34, and I feel it's a great age to be. It's a time where you need to be more aware of health issues, and the like, but it's still so young.

And I'll say that when I'm 44, and 54, and so on. ;)

I'm 39 and I don't think I am old. DD started high school this year and I kept saying, "I'm not old enough to have a child in HS." So... 34 is not old.

You'll realize how young you felt in 10 years :rotfl: Seriously, I'm 42 and I normally feel pretty good. But a few weeks ago I got my first "getting old is crap" feeling...DD had a splinter in her finger and came to me to get it out. I pull out my trusty needle, sterilized in alcohol and go to the finger, except, wait...I couldn't see her finger that close! Far away, yes, I see the splinter but I need to get up close to get to it, but no, I can't see the darn thing! It absolutely floored me. When did my vision change? :earseek:

Considering the alternative, I'm very happy to be getting older and hope I get much older yet! ;) :teeth:

I think our society places too much emphisis on being "young, thin and beautiful" ....at least for women. And if it helps, no, 34 is not old.

Just think about how great it is to be only 34. You could be 50!

You know, I am sooooo obsessed with this Disney trip coming up, that I keep forgetting that I'll actually be older when I get home!!!

Hey, I guess if I gotta turn older, Disney's the place to do it! ;)

LOLOL! That was the first one that did it to me...the eyes. I was impressed when the eye doctor told me I needed lenses less strong. I was thrilled! Then she said don't get too excited, it's age. :earseek: :earseek:

You're 34 and have 4 kids if I saw your siggie correctly. I was 34 when I had my first and only!! ;)

I turned 39 yesterday and it stinks at times. But I do enjoy the wisdom and knowledge that I have at this age but let's face it...not all the responsibility that comes along with it. But I am going to WDW next week!

I'm 30 and having a hard time with it - and my mom calls me today and tells me how she replaced her sewing machine because she got it in 75 ( my year of birth ) and how it was SO old she was surprised it lasted this long! I said, MOM, what's that supposed to mean??? :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
