oh woes me.. I hate to give up my pm's.. some of them are so dear... even the neat freak in me gives way to the sentimental silly goose..

I do wish the pm box would tell you it is getting full before..it is full.... I shall just have to be more vigilant

Not trying to butt in on your thread mamajoan, but saw that you would like if you could know if you're getting close to a full PM box. Well, there's sort of a way that I've figured out how to do this and thought I'd share (since I too hate deleting a lot of PMs...especially those really special ones, so I only want to get rid of what I *have* to in order to make room).

Go to...

and go right to the bottom to where it says "PRIVATE MESSAGES" and under that it will say "(You have X unread messages and XX total messages in all your folders.)" 120 messages is the limit... so you can judge it for yourself.

Just a hint I picked up along the way, hope it helps... and again, sorry for peeking in on your thread.

I shall try to clean out my pm box more often.. Am I correct in assuming if I delete my message tracking and sent items it will leave more room to keep my near and dear pms?


I need to hang on to those in box items a little longer.. I use them to track my responses to people.. but then that does not always work for my wee brain.. Ask KimRaye.. I confuse dis'ers by regions at times.. LOL

So YES .. I will take any and all help is offered!

Glad you didn't mind me popping my head in here.

Your 120 maximum limit includes a total of any messages in your inbox, your sent box and any other personal folders you create. Message Tracking, however, is free play, and those don't count towards your total since those aren't actually PMs being stored on your account, but on other DISers accounts and it's just a record of who has read what and when. (I just added up all of my messages from my inbox and sent box to be sure and yup, those alone add up to the total that it says that I'm at. I have TONS in message tracking so if those were counted I'd be over the limit for sure!) So, there's your freebie of the day... you don't have to be worried about ending message tracking to make room.
