Question for those of you who did not like Mama Melrose's: what was the most disappointing thing about it? And if you did like it, what did you like about it? We are deciding between HBD, MM, and H&V. H&V is probably out, due to the poor reviews, but I've seen poor reviews for MM as well.

We book it usually because we like the idea of the Fantasmic Package. I find the food, okay, (I have finally stopped ordering the chicken parm - so my other choices have been a lot better), the service is sometimes good (I think it's a hit and miss). But my favourite thing is the tiramisu. It is great.

We book and usually get the Fantasmic Dining Package.

We like the food, and the service has always been good. My favorite is the Steak Gorgonzola. On another MM thread, most people posting who said that they liked the food specifically mentioned the Steak Gorgonzola.

The service was terrible. The food was just fine, but our server was nowhere to be found. We ended up having another server to get our refills and such, our server was too busy flirting with a table full of girls to take notice of us.

Have loved it there, and they have a great Sangria.

we ate there for the first time in december. it was a party of 6 adults and we all enjoyed our choices. can't remember what we had, but there  were no complaints.

We loved Mama Melrose when we ate there this past trip. We had a great waiter who was so nice. He let us change or add anything to things we ordered. Everything I ate tasted wonderful. But, it is everyone's own opinion: what one person may like, the next person may dislike. I'd say you never know until you try!

We've eaten there twice and both times had great service, good food (hubby had the Chicken Parmesan last year and loved it and I love the four cheese flatbread pizza). The desserts were good too.

We eat at Mama Melrose at least once everytime we go to WDW. Last week we ate there twice.

We ALWAYS enjoy the food. We pretty much always do lunch there, and have tried and enjoyed pretty much everything on the lunch menu.

Most of the time the service is great too. We have had slow service a couple of times, but then we have had the same issue at other favorite WDW restaurants.

DH and I ate there for the first time this past weekend, and we really enjoyed it. I had the vine-ripened tomato pesto flatbread pizza with a side of roasted red pepper polenta, and DH had the charred butcher tender steak . We both had wine by the glass, and for dessert DH had cheesecake and coffee/amaretto while I had hot chocolate with whipped cream.

I'd give the food and atmosphere a B+ and the service an A (we had a very attentive server). We will definitely be returning there.

We always eat at Mama's. Each visit is usually better than the last and that includes the service. The children love the chicken parm. We do miss the regular bread and butter but overall I can't complain.

Limited menu, small portions, no bread.
Compare to Macaroni Grill-- there they have a fairly extensive menu, large portions, and excellent bread.

We eat here almost every trip.

Love the Caesar salad, penne alla vodka, and cheese and pepperoni flatbreads.

Dont like that they took away the bread.

I had felt portions were getting smaller over the years until my last visit when everything was very large.

The food was served room temp.

My eggplant napoleon came with a white bean ragu, the beans were still hard

We asked for bread twice and the server never brought it out

The toasted bread salad came with one hard crouton

Yes you can, we did it twice last year. It's one credit to do so.

Thank you so much...that is very exciting. I think we are going to give mama melrose's a try and that would work out great with the fantasmic dinner package. :)

Blech!! HATED Mama Melrose. Went with a party of 10....I know a large party so it is going to be a little on the slower side but we waited 50 minutes for entrees!!! This was when we were one of 5 tables full in the whole place!! The food, and everyone agreed, was less than mediocre. Edible but not very good. The food was not hot and many of the meats were over/under done....under done steak, okay, but chicken???!?!? Ew! Had some dishes with cheese that wasn't melted either.

Planning another trip and when I asked my 2 nieces where they wanted to eat, they said ANYWHERE except Mama Melrose!!

We were there 1/22 and the food was just "ok". My husband got the woodgrilled chicken and chocolate cake and I got the chicken parmesan and tiramisu. All was pretty bland and we are NOT picky eaters. The tiramisu barely had any of the coffee soaked cake, so it didn't really taste like tiramisu except for maybe 3 bites. Our waiter wasn't very friendly and he didn't come around much. We don't plan on going back again.
