Mama Melrose's no dinner PS after 5?

Just got off the phone with Disney Dining, and was told that there are no PS's available on 4/03, (Sunday) after 5:00 at Mama Melrose's. Is this because of the Fantasmic packages? I tried to book Mangino's at Shades of Green first, but she said that she was unable to book that restaurant. I guess I have to call the Shades of Green resort directly then. Does that make sense? Thanks in advance for any help!

This is a common problem when making PS's for dinner at the MGM restaurants. For some reason, they only make PS's for early dining times until about a month before the date. The best thing to do is to go ahead and make your PS at 90 days out for the early time, then check back when you get within a month to see if later times have opened up. For our trip last June, it was about 3 weeks out when the later times opened up.

This is the same situation I am currently "holding". We are going to be at MGM on March 29th which will be closing at 10pm instead of 7pm. When I called on Dec. 29th (90 day out) I could have gotten PS at Mama Melroses at 4:20 but that's just too early for our dinner. So the CM suggested I do a 5:30 at Hollywood and Vine (which was my first choice) and then call back to "upgrade" to the dinner package. He suggested this because, (1) I had both the time and dinner choice I wanted and (2) adding the package was easy to do once Disney released a second Fantasmic showing when they do a later closing.
Something to think about anyway.......

I will second what Kaycee said. We actually had a CM on the phone come out and tell us "Mama Melrose only serves dinner from 4:00-4:30", LOL! Of course we kept trying and were able to get later.

Thanks for the advice everyone! Now I do remember reading posts about this a short while ago. I'll call back and book as late as I can, and then call later to see if I can change it. The only problem with calling Disney Dining so early in the morning, is that the coffee hasn't taken effect yet!
