I'm just curious if anyone has heard the any news about Mama Melrose restaurant. I am going in December and am having no luck at all getting a reservation. I hope that Mama's will not close with all the renovation that will be going on.

I am curious as well. From what I am reading here on the DIS no one is able to get a reservation after Dec 10. I have been checking January dates also and no luck there either. I called today and got conflicting information from Disney Dining. One person tells me it's going to be closed for refurbishment, another says it's not and everything just books up quickly. The last person I talked to said the restaurant has not released their fantastic information to dining yet. I am making my ADRs on Sunday and will be disappointed if I can't book here.

On another note.... When I check Dec 10,9, & 8, I am finding availability. So anything past the 10th seems to be blocked off. Anyone have any news?

I've been trying for December 11th since 6 am on my 180+ in mid-June with no luck. My guess would be the renovation or Fantasmic issue. Definitely NOT that it's booked up. It's so frustrating when CMs say that without actually checking!

I can't imagine it fitting in with the rumored Star Wars/Indiana Jones/Pixar theme. We'll see what gets announced at D23 next month. If the Muppets/NY Street area is going, I doubt the building will even stay.

That would be a shame if it closed. We always loved it, even though many had mixed reviews. That area overall is fun to walk through.

I was trying to get a Fantasmic package for Mid January with no luck. I then asked if I could just book a regular reservation. No luck.. I thought that was strange.

I hope it's not closing!! We finally gave it a try on our last trip and really enjoyed it! One of the best options in HS.

Having the same issue trying to book a Fantasmic package in January. Thought I'd come to my greatest Disney information resource and see what people were saying. Sure hope it's not true that Mama's won't be part of the new landscape.

Would love MM to stay but perhaps be re-named to fit in with Ratatouille in the expanded Pixar Place -- maybe Linguini Gusteau's (named for the main character/son in the movie), with a few French dishes added to the menu (but keeping what is already there). That would be a good excuse to bring little animatronic Remy out of retirement (from when he once appeared at Chefs de France).

We were not fans of the service, the tables, and the food 2 years ago. We can do better at Carrabba's.

My family loves Mama Melrose! We will be bummed if we can't make it there next trip.

Got all my ADRs yesterday. I was able to book Mama Melrose but not with a fantasmic package. Looks like in January the fantasmic packages are not released yet
