Is the Fantasmic option included in the dining plan or do you hav eot pay OOP?

the basic DDP does not come with the appitizer even with the fantasmic package. only the deluxe dining plan comes with the appz.

This is NOT what I have read on these boards.....people were actually saying to book the package rather than just dinner because it DOES come with an appetizer and is still only 1 TS credit....

the Fantasmic package comes with appetizer even with the DDP, the reasoning behind this is whether you are paying OOP or with the DDP you are still purchasing the package, which includes appetizer, entree, dessert + reserved seating ticket

the basic DDP TS meal comes with entree, dessert and non alcohlic beverage. No appt & no tip. These were removed from the plan in 2008.
I have not heard anything about booking the fantasmic package grants this to you...but I have this booked for H&V and was not told anything about it...maybe due to this being a buffet.
I did have to use a credit card to make this ressie even with the DDP. There will be a $10 charge placed on my card if I fail to show up.

FDP at Mama Melrose they are including an appetizer, is it because the FDP is a pre fix menu? (I have never been to Mama Melrose - pure speculation, years ago FDP did have a pre set menu - but I dont think that is the case any longer - they had the pre set because it was faster...)

Do they allow you to order any app/entree/dessert on the menu? We had the Fantasmic Dining Package booked in Dec 06 and I remember reading somewhere where the choices were limited. We ended up canceling the package so I really don't know or not if the choices were limited.

This year, when I booked Mama Melrose, I just booked a regular dinner since I didn't want the limited choices. However, if the choices aren't limited, I may call and try to get our ressies changed to the Fantasmic package.

I'm going in December and I want to do 3 Candlelight Processional dinner packages; so, we can get an appetizer with that package, as well. Also, I'll do the same for Fantasmic package to get the appetizer.

If it's a package, I can't see the appetizer not being included with the plan. The package dictates you get an appetizer; so, Disney can't take it away just because you are on the basic plan. Now, Disney can say no package on their basic dining plan, if they want to get technical on this issue.

I was on the fence about any dining plan, but this actually got me convinced to do the basic plan. Now, I'll have to do more homework and call many dining CMs to see if I can get a consistent answer on this one.

Is there anyone out there who has done Fantasmic package over the last few weeks. I can't see how Disney can change this mid stream in this year, but Disney is Disney. I think we may have a loophole this year. Whether Disney continues dinner packages with the basic plan next year is another issue.

There have been a number of posts (enough for me to assume it's correct) that on basic DDP with the Fantasmic package, the appetizer is included at Mama Melrose and Brown Derby because it is part of the package. I have not used it personally. For full disclosure, I last used the dining plan in December 2007, and I do not believe I will be using it again. I do better with a DDE card.

The people who have been there in 2008 can post as they have in the past and answer that question with certainty. I don't know the particulars of what menu items are available on the Fantasmic package as I have not used it in years.

Disney Dining reservationists are notorious for giving out incorrect information and I personally don't trust what they tell me about anything other than what date and time my reservation is for.
