We ate here last June and the service was horrible! On top of that we have an autistic son who can't wait very long.

I thought it might be just a bad waitress that evening. We thought the food was good.

However, another diser said the service was bad for them also.

Is MM service just bad all together?

Thanks, April

Haven't been there in a long while, but I'll find out when we do MM in December. It was our "group" choice for MGM dining this trip.

We have been twice and will NEVER go again. We feel if you have a bad expereince once to try again. Our first visit was in 2001 and our last visit was this past May 2007. The service was okay at best. The food was terrible. We are Italian from NY and I cook, so we are a bit picky about Italian food. We may not be the best judge. But honestly, the food was really not good. My husband's chicken parm had way too may spices and the sause was very thick and almost brown in color. My penne with vodka sause was the opposite. It was tasteless. The calamari app was swimming in oil and the pieces were gummy. My son did eat the kids pizza and the other son refused to eat his pasta after the first bite!

It is a shame because the atmosphere is very nice and it is part of the Fantasmic package (we did the package in May). It just isn't good.

We ate there May 06. We were on ddp . The hosttess was rude and the waitress was the worst server will ever had. We will never eat there again.

Hello tacomaranch! I see you have a few more visits under your belt !!!:thumbsup2

All I can tell you is that in all of our previous trips, we have yet to hit MM. This upcoming trip - :cool1: - 4 days away!! - I have an ADR for MM but am seriously considering a change to the dreaded Alfredo's or.. anywhere. One poster said that Olive Garden looked like gourmet after MM - and that did me in! - We HATE Olive Garden!

My Asperger's boy has learned to wait better over time - but I hear you on that one, too...

Good luck, whatever you decide!

I have an ADR for MM in Dec, but I may change it to Brown Derby now. All this talk of horrible service scares me.

When we visit MGM,we have always had good service and food.We like the wood fired pizza's they have.Plus we have enjoyed several great salads at Mama's.If it is good Italian we would be poor judges, being from midwest small town Pizza Hut is only Italian around.Maybe because we stick to salads and pizza 90% of time at Mama's we have been lucky on food. After 20 visit's we have never had a bad CM server.Could be luck I can't explain it,I know we never had a good experience at Alfredo's on 4 visits but most had great dining experience.:goodvibes :goodvibes Danny

I've lost count now but we have dined there over 10 times in the past 12 years. I can honestly say the only "problems" we have had were once our service was a little slow and another time our waitress brought my friend a different meal than what she had ordered (she kept the meal and loved it!). Other than that we have had no problems at all with service and have always enjoyed our meals here.

I do think they have gotten a little skimpier over the years (especially the salad), but still very good food and service over all.

We had dinner there in Dec 06, we have tried many times to get in there but were never able..this time I planned ahead and snagged a 6 pm ressie, we were excited to try this place since the smells coming from it made our mouths water.

The waitress never brought us bread and we asked twice...she did not say that we had to pay for it, she just never brought it.

The calamari was overly breaded, the toasted bread salad had 2 hard croutons on it, the chicken parm was blah and the eggplant napoleon was super blah and the bean ragu was not cooked long enough as the beans were hard.

The food was brough out very quickly and we felt a bit rushed.

I would not go back again.

I've been three times and plan on going again in October. No bad experiences yet.

We went there for the first time last November- we did the Fantasmic package (on the DDP). Service was maybe a little slow, but they were pretty busy- our longest wait was to be seated. Overall, we were happy, and if we decide to do a fantasmic package again, we'll probably go there.

I'd go there again for the Fantasmic Package but nothing else. We ate there on Wednesday- food was pretty good, but we too had a less than enthusiastic server. When a large G. Gatherings (think 20 or so people) sized group sat down across from us with a LOT of kids, she said, "well, it looks like I have to go babysit now!" Every time she came over to our table she would comment on how annoyed she was having to deal with the children & how difficult they were. SO UN-Disney! So, to say the least, we weren't thrilled with the service. It was nice to have the preferred seating, though, as Fantasmic seating was nearly gone when we arrived 75 minutes before the show!

We ate at Mama Melrose in January of this year and had excellent service and great food. It was actually one the best restaurants that we ate at while on a 11 night stay with DDP. We look forward to eating there again on September 3rd.

We ate there just a few weeks ago. Our dinner was good, as was the service. He wasn't the very best server we experienced, but he was prompt, was able to make a couple of subsitutions for us with no issue and was friendly.

We are Italian as well, so I would very rarely order something with tomato sauce when I am out, since I prefer our family recipe. We had steak, Vodka Penne and one of the flatbreads at our table. Everyone was please with their meal.

We had not-so-good service in late May also. The food was really good, the wait was about 55 minutes WITH a 5:15 ADR, which I did not expect. I didn't expect to be seated immediately, but almost an hour that early? The hostess that we signed in with was also extremely rude, not only to use, but to everyone else as well.

I don't think we'll go back.

We really enjoy Mama's and have never had a horrible experience there. Guess it just depends on they day you go and your server. :confused3

Although we found the food to be just O.K., we thought the service was great. Then again it didn't hurt that they made my dd honorary Mama Melrose Chef for the day and gave her a make your own Mickey Mouse sundae with sprinkles and chocolate sauce...it was part of the year of a million dreams program and she was then given a certificate with her chef hat!

We just ate her this past WSednesday. We were quite happy with service and our food. Our ADR's were at 8pm- we were hot and tired so wechecked in around 7:30- at that time the place was swamped. Many people trying to get a table without ADR. Hostess told me to come back in 15 min to check in. This worried me a little. I returned at about 7:45 and we were seated at 8:01! We had an excellent waitress and server. We would eat here again anytime.
