mama melrose or si fi?

I was wondering which resturant is better and gives a larger portion, mama melrose or si fi dine?

Two very different restaurants, but both very good. I really enjoy Sci Fi. I love the great atmosphere an overall experience of eating at a 'drive in' The food is pretty average, but good. The portions seemed pretty large to us. It's overall been a good experience for us. Mama Melrose, in my opinion, has better food, although I can't recall how large the portions were (been a couple years since we ate there last). It's basically just preference of atmosphere I think. If you have never eaten at Sci Fi, I will say it's definitely worth the experience

If you're going for atmosphere, Sci-Fi, but if food is a priority, Mama Melrose. Right now, neither is much to rave about, though.

Both seem to be love it or hate it propositions. IMHO, Mama Melrose is better but you might prefer Sci-Fi if you have young children.

I like both. Even though it gets a lot of bashing on the boards, we enjoy the food at MM. It is in our top 5 favorites. Sci-Fi is nothing to get excited about foodwise, but the atmosphere is dynamite. It is worth trying out once. Larger portions are probably found at MM.

We love Sci-Fi. Burger and onion rings with a shake is the best! and the atmosphere is amazing. This is the only place that everyone in my family insists on going back to every time we go to Disney.

We love Sci Fi. Last time we had a ADR at Mama Melrose we still had to wait almost 1/2 hour to get seated. And it just seems like a regular Italian restaurant but the Sci Fi is just so different, and fun!

Sci-Fi is great, but more of a great place for lunch IMO than dinner. I canceled dinner at Mama's for lunch at Sci-Fi for the atmosphere. There was plenty of food to eat and was really good. Kids loved it.

Personally I prefer Sci-fi. I usually order burgers and the like, and it is fun, cool type of place.

I think mama melrose is one of my LEAST favorite restaurants on property, and I have a few. DH and I actually got sick there. Could have been an off night, something wrong with the food whatever, but it didn't taste too great either (but we could be biased we are from NYC and have great Italian every block).

For way better Italian Il Mulino, Via Napoli or Tutto are the choices.

Is there a reason Prime time isn't a suggestion? Are you doing a package?

We liked them both. But our food at Mama Melrose was really really good. I was skeptical to try it but was so glad I did. Our waitress was wonderful and so was the food.

Sci-fi was fun for my boys and the food wasn't terrible.

Its been years since we ate at sci fi...but we ate at Mama Melrose not too long ago and ilk. Will never go there again, nothing is edible. I've never said "I'll never eat there again" after eating at any restaurant any Disney except this one.

Many years ago we ate dinner at Sci Fi, was not to happy with the meal. Crossed it off out list. Returned a few years ago for lunch, on a hot day and needed to cool off.

It back on our list this past September 8 of us had lunch and all enjoyed it very much.

MM have not been in quite a few years, we had lunch one afternoon. We will be returning in May, last time food was ok.

One of my problems with DHS has always been the food, prices are high and food so-so. I've found the counter serve is gross. When you spend the whole day here you need to eat and we've found the lunches are a little better.

Sci-Fi, unique atmosphere, good burgers, onion rings. MM, nice restaurant, better food.

I'm not a big fan of Disney food, but I like both MM and Sci-Fi. My only other comment is that once my son ordered the Eggplant Napoleon at MM and the portion was very small, nowhere near enough for a teen.
