Mama Melrose or 50's Prime Time

If you had to choose one, which would you choose, and why?

Well I like the food at Mama Melrose's better but 50's prime time is cool for the atmosphere. If I had to pick i'd probably go for Mama Melrose's.

50's Prime Time is lots more fun and the food is much better! Mama Melrose is overpriced Olive Garden. Not bad, just not good.

I personally don't care for either, but if I had children in my party I would choose 50's Prime Time Cafe. I was at Mama Melrose's a few months ago and I'm not sure I'd go back but then again I'm very picky when it comes to Italian food.

WE like both but would choose 50's prime time. Love the chicken and it's lots of fun. Deserts are good too. MM is good food but not anything special.

We really enjoyed MM and some street characters came in (probably out of the rain) and joked around with everyone! We had tons of fun!!!

That said....after giving dd8 a choice, she chose 50's Prime Time because she wanted to eat at the restaurant where Cousin Vinnie threw straws at everyone!!! So...it's back to 50's Prime Time we go.

If you have kids in your group, you might want to do 50's...if not, then MM is a nice standby choice.

I would say MM, we decided to go for lunch and it was really nice, server was great and the food was excellent. Would recommend it and is on our list when we go back.

Another vote for 50's Prime Time. My 8 year old just LOVES it there and the food is good too!

We ate at Mama Melrose's on Thursday and Prime Time on Saturday. MM was good - a typical chain Italian restaurant, but more expensive. My kids' first choice when I was making ADRs? Prime Time. DD7 asked every day if it was the day we were going to Prime Time. The food is good, and my kids love watching grownups getting picked on for elbows on the table! We've been fortunate to have fun people seated at the table next to us on both of our visits there.

My kids are 10 and 7. For 6 and 8 year olds, I'd recommend Prime Time. It's a unique experience that my kids have talked about since our last trip. MM is just a meal.

I'd pick MM over 50's any day. My kids also enjoy MM for the food and when they have the Streetmosphere (maybe they'd be called Restaurantosphere) CMs in there it makes it a bit more fun.

I know that I've got some pictures of MM on my home computer so I can upload some later. We've always had really good service and food at MM and unfortunately I can't say the same thing for 50's.

We have gone to the Prime Time Cafe' about 10 times...we always love it. You need a good sense of humor however. We love the Fried Chicken, Fish sandwich, meat loaf...it is like home cooking. mmmmm

We've been to both, twice each. I would definitely pick Mama Melrose's because we didn't enjoy Prime Time's food either time. I had the penne alla vodka at Mama Melrose's and it was SO good!

Mame Melrose gets my vote! We've always been happy with our visits there. The food has been good and the service has been great as well.

Have ate at both...like both...50's is comfort food...heavy and filling...fun atmosphere if you like being part of the show...Mama's is a more relaxing with good food and nice atmosphere...who's going just adults or children also...50's would be the choice with children.

50's, comfort food is always the way to go, the themeing is to die for, i could identify many objects that my parents and grandparents had in there home growing up....

I like Mama Melrose for the flatbreads and appetizers.

That's a difficult choice. We usually go to both of these places. We love Kevin at Mama Melrose's and always have great food there. On the other hand, 50's is a fun environment and the fried chicken and milkshakes are great, too! So, I guess it would depend on who was going and why we had to give up one. We are going with a couple extra teenage kids in August and can only go to one. For them, I think it will be the 50's Prime Time experience. They would get a kick out of that.
