Does someone know if the mama melrose fantasmic package is covered on the DDP for 2014 as when making a reservation I see something that says " Select Disney Dining plans not accepted" Is it still the price fix menu it was a couple of years ago and will it still be 1 table credit?

Yes, the Fantasmic! Dining Package is on the dining plan and will be 1 TS credit per person at Mama Melrose. It includes an appetizer, entree and fountain beverage for each person ordered from the regular menu. The dessert at MM is a pre-plated dessert sampler served family style for the table. MM does not have a prix fixe menu.

If you are paying OOP it is a fixed price per person for the F! Dining Package.

The "Select Dining Plans not accepted" refers to the fact that the Quick Service Plan does not qualify.

So let me understand this you still get an appetizer even if on the regular dining plan although it says not included with other meals unless your on the DLX plan. Does anyone have a picture of the pre plated desserts?

This is correct, on the fantasmic package you get an appetizer!

On the package, you get what is included with the package - appetizer, entree, dessert, plus non-alcoholic beverage. Even on the regular dining plan. (Except for Hollywood & Vine, which is a buffet.)

Do they offer varying times for this? All I could find was a 3:30 on a 6:30 fantasmic night. How does that work?

The Fantasmic! Dining Package only offers limited hours. If F! is at 6:30, chances are the last available time was around 4:00 or 4:30. You need enough time to eat and get over to the amphitheater. The package was originally offered to fill the restaurants during the less busy afternoon and very early dinner hours.

Most likely 3:30 is the latest still available for your day. Others probably already booked the later times. We usually choose a late lunch (around 2:00) when doing the F!DP.

If I've seen Fantasmic at DL more times than i can count am I going to be disappointed in fantasmic at WDW? We skipped it our last trip but I'm wondering if we should this trip especial if we are already planning to eat at MM on the dining plan. Sounds like a better deal on the F! Plan.

Well, the seating is much better at DHS.

Beyond that, I think you'll find that the consensus says the DL Fantasmic! is much better. Using the Columbia and the Mark Twain results in a much better show. Likewise the DL dragon is more impressive than the DHS one. Also, unless you're down at the front, the DHS amphitheater is much bigger so you're seated farther away, although the seats for the F!DP are now close to the center.

We try to see F! at DL almost every time we visit, but at DHS I think we've seen it 3 times in 15 years.

If you're on the DDP then doing the F! Dining Package is worthwhile because it's only one credit per person at MM and includes an app, entree and non-alcoholic beverage for each adult. Dessert is a pre-plated sampler served family style. In fact, the last time we saw F! it was because we had the dining plan and figured it was a good use of credits. :)

I swear that it said the Appetizer was included when I booked my reservation. When I was looking for other available times on Thursday it reads,

"Dining packages for The Hollywood Brown Derby and Mama Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano are available for lunch or dinner and include one (1):

Entrée
Dessert
Non-alcoholic beverage
VIP seating voucher"

The last time we did Mama Melrose and the Fantasmic! package was in 2007 when the appetizer was included for everyone. Is this a recent change or is the website possibly wrong? I've heard from many that the appetizer is still included, even on the basic dining plan.

Yes, the website is wrong. The app is still included.

Thanks for this thread! I totally missed that we get an appetizer on the dining plan for Fantasmic! lunch at MM. Looking forward to our lunch there even more now.

Someone in another thread just posted her relatives just got back and NO appetizer was offered at MM with the fantasmic pkg.

We did this the end of August and the appetizer was included then. If it's not now, it's a very recent change.

I ate there 11/10/13 on the Fantasmic! package on the Dining Plan and the appetizer definitely was still included.
I didn't know it and was pleasantly surprised.

We secured a reservation for this and I am really excited for it! Can anyone tell me the cost for OOP?
