Mama Melrose-3rd time was not good

We have been to Mama Melrose twice before. Loved it both times but I guess all good things must come to an end. We went there again Tues evening and I must say the service and the food were terrible. We waited about 15 minutes before our order was even taken. They weren't even that busy at the time. When the food finally came it was a big dissapointment. I orderd Penne Ala Vodka because I loved it last time. This time the the dish was dry and had very little flavor. My husband had Chicken Parm with spaghetti and he maybe had 1 spoonful of pasta on his plate. Our waiter came back to our table maybe one time when we were done to refill our sodas. We'll think twice about eating there again.

Bummer...last two times we've had good food, but slowwww service. Hate hearing the foods going downhill too...we'll be there in about 3 weeks & hoping it's better then.

You know, it wasn't busy when we were there either. Well, they had a bunch of people waiting to be seated but more than half the tables were empty the whole time we were there...and waiters were just standing around in groups chatting. Food took forever for us, too, and slow to refill. Don't know what's going on at that place. Wonder if having the Fantasmic Dining Package there gives them enough guaranteed paid meals that they just don't have to bother with good service?

I was there two weeks ago and the food was awful! We enjoyed the appetizers, but none of us took more than a few bites of our entrees. The flatbreads had zero flavor, my eggplant was not even edible, and my father's chicken parm was lousy. We remembered having such good food the time we had been there last (okay that was 5 years ago but we really liked it).

It's too bad because Mama Melrose is one restaurant we enjoyed. I think overall, the food has really gone downhill at Disney and to top it off it is so expensive.

I think a lot of it has to do with the dining plan. They are mass producing the food and nothing is prepared fresh upon order like the old days.

Sorry to say that this was the worst meal we had at Disney all last week.

The calamari appetizer was fine. Not the best calamari, but the fried batter was descent. My wife also finished our daughter's minestrone soup, and she said it was descent. Things only went downhill from there.

We both got the tuna, which may have been our first mistake. I got it without the sauce and my wife got it with the sauce. My wife's was putrid. You could not even come close to eating it. It seemed like it was frozen, and had sat for several days. Mine was simply not cooked properly. My wife sent her dish back, and we both tried to eat mine, but could not.

As for my kids meals, they, of course, ordered pizza. And surprisingly, neither liked it. It tasted like they put provolone cheese on the pizza, and both kids said the pizza tasted like vomit.

The desserts were simply wasted calories. The tiramisu tasted like all they did was put Kool Whip in a cup and sprinkle it with chocolate powder. It had no taste whatsoever. I got the lemon dessert, and while it had some flavor, it was barely noticeable. It was like a mild lemon pudding with Kool Whip. Very disappointing.

The waitress provided really good service though because she tried her best to accommodate us, but with food that bad, this was difficult. She never charged us for my wife's meal, but this unfortunately led to a wasted TS meal, as there was no way to just one TS meal. She really was a great server.

We went to Mama Melrose for the fantasmic package. This was fine, as we got the seating at the show, but next time we will do Brown Derby even if it uses 2 TS credits.
