We are back at the fort for a live trip report. It will be short and sweet. Here with hubby, Mallory (brown dog) and Yeti (white dog). It's been a good day in a non pet loop but lots of trees. I have to worry about yeti barking but Mallory is a rock star.

Tomorrow is frozen summer fun.

Those are some pretty pups you got there. Bet it's tough keeping them cool.

Thanks for taking the time to report.

By your title, I thought maybe they had actually found a job for that disabled snaggle toothed thing over at Expedition Everest.

And glad to see not all of them have to stay home... mine do :( . Since mine were bred (like Yeti) to be territorial and protective, and they are older and I am impatient,:rolleyes1 I don't believe I would ever be able to teach them NOT to bark.

I'm interested in what you do that works best at the campground. I wish you some appreciative neighbors and a more stress-less stay.

And you say a lot of trees in your loop- may I ask which? and whether you thought that good for shade- or bad for maneuvering or what?

Thanks for the pic and the Howdy from homebase. Would also love to hear/see more. :goodvibes

We are in 1300. Site 1324. Pros since it is normally a pet free loop not a lot of other dogs but a few. Helps as mine tend to bark at dogs and yeti being big has a loud bark. Because of mal's disease her bark is more of a whoop so no one really care. We really like the privacy we with the trees. It also gave us a good method for tying yeti out. That being said we prefer to be near the marina in the 700 loop or 400 loop. In 1300 we are more in the middle near the pool. Am sure some prefer that but we like to be near marina.

I know it is Labor Day weekend but wow is it crowded here. Almost every site filled. We will be here till Saturday will be interested to see how cleared out it is by Tuesday.

It is definitely hot. Back at the rig now, went to DHS this morning watched the processional, toy store mania ride and lunch. Will head back for the sing along and fireworks.

Hope to get a few more pics up. Did not walk dogs till evening so hopefully today get some at the dog park.

Great pic! Enjoy!! Yes, Labor Day weekend is very crowded. It's nice your staying through it. You'll see everyone start piling out about 10:30 to get out by 11am. So, actually it'll be better by Monday afternoon. When we use to go then we would pay for Monday and either stay or just leave when we wanted as the Fort seemed to thin out and get back to normal as everyone had to head back to school and work on Tuesday.

Now we come right after a big holiday weekend or even before in the case of Thanksgiving as the Fort is alot less full. We'll be there on Friday for a quick weekend stay. :)

So it was a good thing we went back to the rig. It was hot and a rain came in. We are newbies to RVing we knew with high wind we had to worry about the awning but we thought rain would not be a problem. Well our awning does not have the slant so it pooled water. Thankfully we noticed it and manage to dump the water and pull in the awning. We caught it before anything major happened. Just glad we were back because we had been leaving the awning out. NOt any more though.

We also got our pic with the take along Olaf. Remember it was Frozen summer fun day.

Now it was time to go back to DHS. We had 7 pm sing a long tickets and then the dessert party for the Frozen Fireworks. The whole reason i planned this trip is because i wanted to do Frozen Summer Fun. I booked it when it was announced thinking it would not get extended. Loved the sing a long. It was great. I screamed sang with every other kid in the theater. Hope it moves to t AIE permanently. The Frozen Fireworks and dance party were great too. After leaving I was super happy we did it.

Getting back late we still had to walk dogs. It was a long day, but well worth the entire trip for me.

Not sure what is going on with the pics. I keep trying, I got it to work in the first post, but my Olaf pic seems to not be going up.

Monday we got up and took the dogs to the dog park. There were about 7 other dogs at one point. It was great. Mallory will not play with Yeti and he really wants to play. She is alpha so i think that is why she won't play. I was so glad to see him play and she even played with the other dogs. It made my day. However being in the 1300 loop we are VERY far from the dog park, especially with it hot out.

Next we left them to sleep and we went to Kouzzina's for breakfast. It is one of our favorites and i was not expecting to get to go again after May. Then on to AK. We had FP+ for Expedition Everest, and the safari. We headed to Lion King after that and then out. It was so hot.

Back at the rig, still have sleepy dogs. I am hoping for a little pool time and then out to Cali Grill to have dinner and watch the Hallowishes Fireworks from there.

The campground has definitely cleared out. Even when we walked the dogs this am around 8 we were seeing empty spots. We had not seen anything empty.

I think someone asked about our RV it is huge 40ft. We did not have problems getting in. It was tight but the one piece of advice i always repeat is "you can't be in a hurry in an RV" . We did pretty good did not take that long but we would have just made people wait.

So awesome you got to take your dogs!! Mallory looks wonderful in her wheels! :goodvibes Can't wait to hear how the rest of your week goes.

We have many Disney trips under our belt but we haven't stayed at Fort Wilderness.

Last year we squeezed into a little room at Pop, so for our next trip I want to stay in a Cabin at Fort Wilderness. Growing up we stayed at the FW Campground twice so it feels like home to me.

I am enjoying your report thanks for sharing your pictures.

It's Tuesday and everyone left. Our loop is about 20% full and some loops are completely empty. It is so quiet here. I really do prefer it this way. Today we worked. We planned to work today and tomorrow from the rig and then off on Thursday and Friday. Spent the morning working outside with the dogs.

A little yeti love.

After work we went yo Epcot and had dinner at La Hacienda. It was good and enjoyed my margarita. After we did a walk around world showcase and skipped illuminations to get back and walk dogs. Epcot crowds were good. It was not really crowded.

Tomorrow more working and hopefully a trip on the mine train after work. I was able to score FP+ but it will be close if work holds us up might miss it and have to wait till next trip.

Really enjoying so far, thanks.
Hard to imagine, after a day of work going to EPCOT for dinner...

Lucky "dogs"

Short and sweet today and no pictures. Had to work hoping to get to MK to do 7dmt but it did not happen. I did score FP+ for it for tomorrow though. Plan is to not work tomorrow and head to MK in morning and then Epcot for dinner.

Tonight after work we headed to Territory Lounge at Wilderness Lodge. Had apps for dinner and a couple drinks. Back to the fort to walk dogs and then sit outside and enjoy the campground. The day was lovely I worked outside the whole time with the dogs. I know Mallory loved it. I love being able to spend this time with her. She really loves me.

Till tomorrow

Thanks for your report!!!! Hope you get to visit the 7 Ds.

My DD is enjoying all the doggie pictures!

Started the day like every other, run, shower, coffee and work. It was a day off but hubby had to work, so i checked emails and sat outside with dogs. Mal liked yeti's spot.

Finally to MK. Started with lunch at BOG. It was nice and cool inside. Then to the big attraction, 7dmt. First it was about 12:30 and stand by was only 35 min, we had FP. I loved the animatronics the dwarves looked fantastic. The ride super super short. Then did philharmagic, small world and FP for big thunder, hit tiki room and headed out. At the rig we waited on the rain.

Decided rain was not stopping so went to Mizner's Lounge at GF and had dinner. Back home to walk dogs and bed.

Tomorrow the day is dedicated to watching Off Kilter as they will be gone the next time we are back.

awesome trip report. love mal and her wheels. there is a guy on f/b that makes wheels for dogs and donates them to people that need them. he only asks that when the wheels are no longer needed that they are donated to the next dog in need of them. can i ask what she has?

jeti and mal are beautiful dogs. i think you'll be surprised at how much they change after this trip. there is something great about how dogs react to each other (like at the dog park) that can bring out the best in them even when they don't want to be friends.

i've done some fostering and it isn't so much what a foster parent teaches the dogs as what your dogs teach the foster dog. it is so amazing to watch them change. mal and jeti are going to be best buds in no time.

the olaf pic is great! :) how long will you be at the fort? we love camping there and taking our pups along. enjoy your trip. i'm looking for more mal and jeti pics!

Today started the same way, run, shower, coffee and work, but today only checked emails and then left the work. We walked the dogs and enjoyed meeting all the new people at the fort. We enjoyed the morning sitting out with the dogs.

Then headed to Epcot. We wanted to hear off kilter since the next time we are back they will be done. Got to Epcot just in time to use our mission space FP, then headed to Canada. Listened to the first set and then needed food.

We went to spice road table. We really enjoyed the food. It is not cheap since it is small plates but it was very flavorful. While there it rained so we hung out till 4 and then headed to Soarin to use our FP. At that time the stand by was about 45 min. After that we wanted to see the rest of the off kilter sets, but Mother Nature would not cooperate. They cancelled the 5pm set. We then headed to Mexico and went to La Cava for margaritas and chips. Finished and it was still raining, headed to Norway and got some dessert. I was ready to go, the rain was not hard but was not stopping either.

Back at the rig. Getting ready to break camp tomorrow and drive home. We will start the day with breakfast at Trail's End.

I forgot to post about Mallory. She has degenerative myelopathy. It is a disease in dogs that is simian to ALS in humans. It is wonderful to see all the ice bucket challenge stuff. When we got the diagnosis, last august, we were surprised how little research had been done.

Mal started therapy in sept 2013 and we did that as long as possible. The disease did progress quickly as she was down in her backend by March 2014. She has been in the cart since. We still do some water therapy but basically we walk her and try and keep her strong. She is not in any pain and pretty happy. She loves me a lot and we have formed a huge bond. I can't believe how much I love her. I am so glad to be able to spend the time with her at the fort. She loves it too.

While I was searching for something else, I saw and read your last trip thread, where you made the comment that you hoped, but couldn't count on, being able to have Mallory with you this year... And here you are. (!):)

I know how that feels.. my 11 year old collie means a great deal to me. Each time we leave I wonder if he will be there when we get back. We will be at the Fort, also for work, in a few weeks and leaving the dogs is my biggest worry. I tried raising a replacement pup who has lots of similar characteristics with my youngest son, hoping it would make the eventual, easier, but for me the bond just isn't there.

Well, she's lovely. Wishing you a fulfilling length of stay!
