Malicious download attempts

Today three different times my works anti virus stopped the site (might be an advertisement) from trying to auto download a malicious program. I've seen in other posts on the board that an anti spyware application has tried to install for other users.

Yes! This is happening for me too in Firefox.

I don't know if you would call it malicious software attempting a virus attack but YES, I'm getting several VERY AGGRESSIVE advertisements from a company(s) stating I need to upgrade my browser and "Click here." There is no place to reply NO and it doesn't allow me to get back to the DISboards without reloading. While I currently refuse to believe it's true. I will say that if the new DISboards website has formed any type of relationship with any 3rd party software vendors, I'm confident you will find your entire membership will disappear within weeks. Please say this is not true and you're simply being invaded by unwanted vendors until you can correct this very serious and dangerous problem.

I'm on an ipad and got redirected to the App Store several times just trying to get to the tech board! This is the only board it happens on.

If you could let us know what browser and operating system you are using, this can help us a great deal. Also, if someone can give us a screen shot of it, that would help as well.

its been happening to me since i think thursday.
obviously its something to do with disboards since numerous people are getting it.
i use firefox.

I've gotten the "need to update your browser" message on my desktop and laptop using both Firefox and IE. on my iPad, I am automatically redirected to the app store a lot - I didn't take notice if it was only going to specific forums.

I'm on an ipad and got redirected to the App Store several times just trying to get to the tech board! This is the only board it happens on.

Same thing for me- jumps me to App Store-happened to me when coming to this board and when trying to open a thread.

just happened to me a gain a second ago.
i can't screen shot cuz i'm on my computer and i can't copy/paste anything either.
basically it forces my internet to this page that is dark grey and has a box in the middle saying something about i need to update my software to ensure my browser is updated.
the only option is to say ok. if you click it then it says something is ready to download. you can close that out but it just brings you back to the previous announcement.
i can either click back a couple times and it will bring me back to what i was looking at to begin with or i can close the internet and start again.

it is ONLY on disboards that this happens and it has been happening for several days.

Ditto -- this is exactly what has been happening to me too. Started late last week- maybe Thursday ? I knew about the new boards & thought maybe I needed something to be able to access the new boards.

I'm on IE and it's happening to me. I can't get out of it. When I click the X it asks me if I want to leave this page. Closes out anything I had open.

I'm using as ipad3 and this has been happening to me as well since the update. I won't be touching anything on the screen, just reading, and suddenly I leave the board and go to the App Store. Most recently it directed me to a casino app.

Just happened again. Please please please do not go to this URL. I'm only including it so that the web admin's can use it to trace to what advertisement triggered this. FYI this was on the Disneyland discussion section when it triggered.

Also this is a Windows 7 64bit Box using Firefox as my browser.

Happened to me yesterday on Explorer and just started happening again today. Takes my whole screen to white except for a box in the middle trying to "update my browser" (which is up to date by the way). It entirely locks up internet explorer until I hit control/Alt/delete and go into task manager and shut explorer down, so there is no way to get a screen shot.

Same thing here..I am on a macbook and every 9 out of 10 threads I open it automatically takes me to that darn mac 101 clean up crapsite - and not in a new window, it replaces this one. I am on Google chrome if that makes a difference. It's getting to the point that I don't want to click on anything anymore
