In honor of Villain's Month (and because I want the BGR award
) I have created a new game called Maleficent's Throne.
First, when you come into the room, enter the river to get in line. Building a river adds to the theme (a moat around Maleficent's castle) and makes sure there is no skipping in line. When a game is over, the winner will receive his or her prize and then exit the room. They can re-enter the room to play again, or they can exit by choosing another room from the map. If a player does not leave, they will have until the next round of players has loaded, and then I will boot them from the room. If you are going to a room where you will have to wait in a queue, please enter another room first so you do not appear to be in the game room still.
Five players can play in a full round. Each player will sit in a red barrel seat in the back row. I will ask questions about VMK itself, and the first player to answer correctly will move up to the next row of chairs. I will only ask questions about VMK unless announced otherwise. If a round is not to be about VMK, dubbed a "Bonus Round," I will say something along the lines of, "Bonus Round! These questions are about Walt Disney World or Disney Land Resort. If you would like to play in a Bonus Round, step to the side of the river. If you do not know about the Disney Park, stay on the river until the next regular round, and you will have a better chance.
Every question I say you answered correctly first, you will move up one row of chairs. The first person to the front row -to claim Maleficent's Throne- wins the game. Prizes are a Maleficent's Wall Lamp for a regular round, and a Blue Saddle Seat for a Bonus Round.
Additional Rules:
-Cheating is not tolerated. You will be immediately booted from the room if you move up a row when I have not instructed you to do so.
-Do not speak if you are waiting in line. Do not shout out answers if you are not playing in the game. Do not talk because not only does it distract me from the players who are answering, it may distract the players from the game, and it could make the question flash by before a player has the chance to read it.
-Do not object to a question and/or answer I have announced. "Moderator makes final descision" -quoted from the Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl Rules. In this case, I am the moderator.
On crashing:
If you crash while playing the game, I am sorry but:
a) I have no way of knowing if you have crashed or simply left the game. And furthermore,
b) We don't have the time to stop a game and wait for you to log back in.
To avoid crashing, try these tips:
-Do not use magic or dance.
-Say something or ise an emoticon often.
-In the taskbar in the bottom left-hand side of your screen, there is a computer showing your internet status. If the monitor is not blue, say or do something in the VMK window to show you are active in VMk. If you do not, you may disconnect.
-I have just started using a program called VMK Pal. You can launch VMK directly from this window. It is free and you can download it at: http://www.vmkpal.com. It may be coincidence, but I don't seem to crash/disconnect quite as much (knock on wood). You may want to give this a try.
On prizes:
-Only the first place winner recieves a prize.
-If you leave without getting your prize, you cannot come back later to claim it.
-Prizes are only awarded if I have any. If I don't, then you don't get a prize.
-I am currently waiting for a reply concerning a credit spree for some prizes, but I could always use donations or if you are offering credit sprees, please let me know by sending me a PM.
Stop by sometime, and check out this game. I will be running it for sometime, and thanks to Priz, I will try to update this thread every day with winners, but as this game is not very complex, I won't have very many technical notes.
