Making your own mixed/frozen drinks

I was wondering if I could bring a 6 pack of beer in my luggage or if I would not be allowed to bring it onboard? Personally I have a problem with paying $5.00 for a beer when I can get a 6 pack for that at most convenience stores.

You can bring it in any carry on--cooler or otherwise. You are not allowed to check liquids.

I considered buying a Magic Bullet before our cruise but because we're not big drinkers, I decided not too. However, I enjoyed having a drink while walking around the deck but only bought a couple because I had a hard time paying 6.50 for one. We decided that next time, we would want to bring our own alcohol and a Magic Bullet. MIL gave me a gift card for Christmas from Bed Bath and Beyond and with a coupon I had, I was able to get a Magic Bullet for $40. I'll try it out to make sure it works but then I'll probably just put it up for our next cruise in March 2011. That will probably be the next time I drink!

I would have told you froo froo as well.

I guess you do learn something everyday:rotfl:

In the past I have brought my blender onboard but would think about getting the Magic Bullet. Where have you all purchased yours??

I just got a magic bullet for Christmas and NEVER thought of bringing it on the cruise for drinks. I might have to revisit that idea. I was with TVguy - I am on the ship to be pampered, but in the evening it would be nice not to have to leave the room to get a drink.

Bed Bath & Beyond. Regular price was $50 but with a 20% coupon, it was $40.00. They are always sending out coupons and mine even takes the expired coupons.

I never thought of bringing my bullet either. I drink protein drinks everyday made in my bullet but for the cruise I just brought a shaker bottle. I bought my Cooks brand "bullet" at Penneys. It has lasted me 2+years and it was only $19.99. It came with extra blender cups large and small and the colored rims so you can identify which cup is yours. Great price and good product.
I'll be packing mine next cruise.

We don't drink alcholic drinks but I love the virgin drinks. After reading this thread I asked a friend of mine for advice on mixing my own on-board (my mom has a small handheld blender thing I could borrow), but she said that the only way she knew of was to use the frozen concentrate - which obviously I can't take onboard. So how can I make something as simple as a strawberry dacquiri or pina coloda? (spelling??) Is there some kind of powdered dry mix available? Help? I'd love to save some money and still enjoy those kinds of drinks on the cruise!

You can buy in the package store the liguid bottles of virgin strawberry dacquiri mixes. They are really yummy!!

I thought juice was free on board but someone mentioned paying for OJ. Anyone know if we can just grab some free juice and fruit at night?

You can get juice at top siders at no charge. Or you can buy juice that is more concentrated from the any of the bars.
