Making the DVC Rounds...A March '11 PTR: TR link added p. 30

Wow I can't believe you're at 100 days already! :cool1:

I was looking at those drawings of the new resort when I was at work...they look great! I'm sure it's going to be really popular, since it's new and the theming is fantastic! :thumbsup2

Me neither but it's nice to finally be in the double digits now. haha!

I agree, I don't know if we'll ever get to stay there but I'd definitely want to go check it out sometime! I like the pic of the Lion King part and what looks like the elephant graveyard. Oh, and the Nemo one. Love that movie!

I saw the link on Facebook. The Art of animation is my new favorite place. I never knew it existed until you mentioned it in your last report.

We definately have to meet up. I made a few ADR's and I told my nephew I would take him on Friday April 1 to a resturant at The Studios. They get vouchers for a CS meal and I thought it would be fun to do Sci-Fi resturant or Prime Time Cafe. I am leaning towards Prime Time, because all the food at Sci-Fi- you can get at the CS. Not worth the extra money.

Well, when it gets closer to March we should figure out when it might work out to meet. Right now I think the only things that are for certain for us is going to the MK our first day since we always do that and then the places we have our couple ADRs. Both the Sci-Fi and Prime Time are good choices but it's always fun seing people get "yelled" at by their parents at the Prime Time. :rotfl:

Getting into double digits is so exciting! I'm dancing for you! :dance3:

Yes it is! I can't wait. :cool1::cool1::cool1:

Woo hoo for 100 days!! Can't wait to see how much I stink at your game. ;)

Well, it's not really a game game, more just a countdown. Like how I've done top ten lists and favorite memories. It's along those lines but something I haven't done before but thought might be kind of cool. Maybe I'll reveal it later today when I get home from school...popcorn::

Yay for 100 days!!! I totally missed our 100 days. Today we were finally down to 65. I've been sending them a tidbit of info or trivia each day. Well, I WAS doing that for a while, but work takes over so sometimes I miss a few days, and I send it all at once. My goal is to turn them all into Disney fanatics too!!! They're extremely excited as am I, of course!

oOoO, curious to know what game you'll have! I really need to get back to doing mine!!! Haha, I don't have timeeeeeeeeeee!!!

65 days only, wow that is getting close! That's awesome everyone is so excited. It's not as much fun when people don't care. But seriously, how could you NOT be excited about going to Disney?! :yay:

Stay tuned for my countdown reveal...:thumbsup2

Double-digits!!!! I hope the days start flying by for you!!

I saw those drawings of the AoA, it's looks awesome! Especially that Lion King area. I can't wait to see more of it and actual pics!

When I logged on this morning I saw a link to an article for information on the 2011 Flower and Garden Festival. Of course I had to go see what it said and I have to say I'm pretty excited! I love the F&GF anyway but it sounds like they have a lot of neat stuff planned. Here's what it all mentioned:

New in 2011:
•Toy Story 3 characters Woody, Buzz Lightyear, and Lotso will make their Flower & Garden debut at the EPCOT main entrance as seven-foot-tall topiaries. In an effort to stay true to the strawberry-sceneted belly of the Lotso character in the successful film, the area surrounding Lotso will smell like strawberries.
•Characters from the Summer 2011 release Cars 2 will be featured as topiaries in the World Showcase Plaza. There are also plans for a special celebration in anticipation of the film's June 24th release.
•Winnie the Pooh and Tigger will occupy a Hundred Acre Wood display in between Future World and World Showcase.
•The Healthy Living Garden will be focused on helping guests develop a healthy lifestyle, this garden will "focus on healthful eating, fitness, relaxation and meditation."
•Rapunzel can be found in the Tangled Magical Garden between Germany and Italy.
•Bambi's Butterfly House will be expanded as it opens in its new location near Innoventions West.
•Special Weekend Celebrations:
◦Art in the Garden celebration of plein air artists - 3/25 - 3/27
◦I Dig Bugs - 4/15 - 4/17
◦Fresh from Florida Farmer’s Market salute - 4/29 - 5/1
◦Disney/Pixar celebration will be held in May (date to be announced)

I'm pretty sure we'll be catching the tail end of the F&G Festival and all those things sound so cool! I especially like the ones you put in green too!

100 days until Disney World!!!
:dance3::dance3::dance3:

Yayyyy!!!!!!!!! :yay: :woohoo:

yay, you're in double digits now! :cheer2:

I love the new pics of Art of Animation. I'd definitely want to stay there. I can't wait to see actual pictures of when they start building it!

I hope they do too. I'm ready to go now! haha

I wonder when we'll start seeing actual pictures. Not for a while I bet. But it will be really cool!

Yayyyy!!!!!!!!! :yay: :woohoo:

That's cool you'll make it just in time to see the F&GF stuff. It really is such a fun time to go.

I'd love to stay there too though I don't know if we ever will being in DVC. Maybe if we use up all our points.

Alrighty, we're officially in double digits now...woo hoo! So I think now is a great time to start my countdown. But before I reveal that (don't worry, it'll still be in this post!), I've been thinking about something else I might want to do when we're there.

One place that we've never been to in WDW is the Wide World of Sports complex (still kinda bummed we weren't able to go last year when Marquette played in the Old Spice Classic there! haha).

wws_sign_sml.jpg

Well, what goes on in spring? Spring training, of course! No, I wouldn't be going for the Brewers since they have their spring training in Arizona. But the Atlanta Braves use the Wide World of Sports for their home spring training games! I know my dad and sister are planning on going when they're there. I looked up their schedule and they do have a couple home games when Claire and I are going to be there. I thought a good day to go would be the day we go to Chef Mickey's since it'll be the end of our trip and we'll probably have done most of what we wanted to do at the parks. But, after looking again, I guess I had the dates mixed up because the last two games are March 27 and 28. The 27th is definitely out since that'll be our first full day (plus they play in the afternoon). So if we do decide to go we'd have to go the 28th. The tickets go on sale in January I think but we wouldn't buy them ahead of time if we end up not wanting to go. We'd probably just go and get the $10 lawn seats. It shouldn't be too hard since they're playing the Nationals that night. But you never know. Just another possibility for something to do. It might be kind of fun.

OK, so now onto the countdown reveal. If you've read my other PTRs, you might remember some of my other countdown "games." I've done favorite WDW memories and also Top Ten lists of Disney favorites. Well, for this report I thought of another new game. What is it? I thought it might be fun to countdown each week until our trip, making that 13 or 14 weeks, with a Disney "Quote of the Week!" Now here's the deal with it though. I am going to try to stay away from song lyrics. I really want to just use quotes that you hear on attractions or elsewhere in the parks. Things that you'd ONLY hear in Disney World and make it part of the Disney experience. So are you ready? The first Quote of the Week is...

"Have a Magical Day!"

How many times has a cast member said that to you? I remember specifically on our August trip the CM who helped us check in said that to us. Not only do you hear it all the time, they even print it on receipts! It's just one of those little things that adds to the Disney magic. And really, doesn't it just fit? They could say things like have a nice day or have a great day but no, it's have a MAGICAL day. Ahh I just love it. :goodvibes

While I have a bunch of ideas for quotes already, what are your favorite Disney quotes? Song lyrics are OK but what about PARK quotes? Feel free to share and who knows, maybe you'll think of one I haven't thought of! :)

“Your cadaverous pallor betrays an aura of foreboding, almost as though you sense a disquieting metamorphosis. Is this haunted room actually stretching? Or is it your imagination, hmm…?”

My favorite ride! I get stares all of the time in the stretching room, because I mimic to words! :lmao:

Hey don't underestimate the Nats! My 6 year old swears this will be their year:rolleyes:

Just wanted to say I'm joining in! Our dates are almost the same, I'm going March 27-April 2. I didn't realize till I read one of your posts that it will be the 40th anniversary next year! That's so exciting. I love your countdown game too. I've been thinking I need to do a countdown game as well in order to pass the time but I can't think of anything good:confused3

I'd love to see a baseball game in Disney! :thumbsup2

Love the quote of the week idea! :cool1: I'll have to get back to you with my favorite Disney quotes, there are just too many!

I like the quotes countdown idea! You're so creative.

I can't think of of any at the moment, but I'm sure some will come to mind as this countdown goes on.

One of my favorite, favorite lines is ""Hold on to your hats and glasses, 'cuz this here's the Wildest ride in the Wilderness!"

And anything from Splash Mountain (god how I love that ride and BTMRR hehe). I'll try and think of more!

One of my favorite, favorite lines is ""Hold on to your hats and glasses, 'cuz this here's the Wildest ride in the Wilderness!"

Mine too! :goodvibes

The other one is a song, "The Trolley Song". When I hear that it's just SO SO SO Main Street USA to me. It brings a smile to my face just thinking of seeing them and hearing the song. :cloud9:

I like your idea of the baseball game! And $10 for a seat? That's a great deal!

LOL! Whenever I think of the HM I always think of one of the CMs saying please move to the dead center of the room.

That's true, you never know! ;)

Welcome! Thanks for joining in. Cool we'll be there around the same time...I'll have to go check out your PTR too. :thumbsup2

The more I think about it, the more I think it would be fun even if I am not a Braves fan. LOL.

I like the quotes countdown idea! You're so creative.

Thanks. I thought it would be a neat idea. I always see other people's games and then try to think of something I could do so I don't totally copy them.

And anything from Splash Mountain (god how I love that ride and BTMRR hehe). I'll try and think of more!

That's one of my favorites too...you may be seeing that on the countdown eventually...;)

Ahh yes, Splash Mountain is good too. "Pleeeease don't throw me in the briar patch!"

Mine too! :goodvibes

Ooh yeah, I love that song! Definitely very Main Street-ish.

Yeah, the $10 tickets though are actually for the lawn in the outfield. But I don't really want to pay $40 for an actual seat. So the lawn might have to do. Who knows, maybe I'd get a homerun ball.

Just wanted to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas!!! We just got back from all our festivities and are going to (finally!) watch National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation.

Hope everyone had a great holiday (and was able to catch some of the Disney Parks Christmas Parade on TV!).

that's cool about spring training! i cannot wait for spring training to start up, i love the start of a baseball season (:

I hope you had a wonderful Christmas, Sarah!

I hope you had a great Christmas!!!

And who knows, you could catch a ball in the outfield, wouldn't that be incredible?!
