Making ressies in January for June

I have been "just about ready to buy" now for about 6 months. My goal has been to buy into DVC in time to take a trip home next June. What I'm thinking now is, if I set a goal to buy in January - 1) how soon after I decide to buy, can I make a reservation and 2) do you think I could still get a studio at some DVC resort at WDW for the middle of June and 3) should I be worried that BCV might be sold out by January?

1). Assuming you are buying from Disney, as soon as you sign the papers and they have your depost (and your credit is approved if you are financing through them).

2). Probably, especially if you are willing to stay at any of the on site resorts. Might have to use the waitlist, but IMHO, there would be an excellent chance of that working out.

3). I don't think so, but that 's just my opinion. You could call yor guide, tell her/him your plans and ask to be called if the resort is getting close to sold out. At that point, you could decide to purchase sooner than January or make another plan (maybe go the resale route).

Although I don't know for sure how it will be this year, I'll tell you our experiences when we bought last January, and booked for June. First off, we could call Member Services to book as soon as we paid the downpayment. I remember this especially because it seemed so funny to me that we could make ressies even before we were approved for financing. We booked a studio at VWL. We had to be waitlisted for one night, but we got that within a month. Also, in May we called and had them add one more night (now we're reserving about a month ahead) at any other DVC resort, because as new members we decided we wanted to try them all. No problem-we got a night at OKW a month out. Hope you're as lucky this year.

Last year I called in Feb. and was able to get a std. view BWV studio for 4 nights towards the end of June.
