Making reservations

Just purchased an RV and looking for available dates at FW campground. There are no sights for Thanksgiving week this year. How far in advance can you make reservations? Do you have to call to make them past Dec. 2017? I did try to find info on the FW & Campground thread and if someone will direct me to the most up to date information, I would appreciate it.

499 days in advance and yes you have to call to book that far out. They will charge you current rate deposit and you will have to pay difference when next years prices come out.

Sites for Thanksgiving and Christmas and Halloween easily fill up the year before. You may get luck and get a last minute cancellation at that time, as people who booked early find out they can not go. But you have to check a couple times a day and of course be lucky.

When do you pay the difference? At check-in or will they charge your card when the new rates come out?

For a room-only (campsite only) reservation, you pay in full at check-in. You CAN pay sooner if you want to, but payment in full is due by check-in.

Also, while it's difficult to schedule this way, you can check back frequently (both via web and by calling) to see if anything opens up. Peoples plans change and as a result if you are diligent you could get your vacation that you want. It is challenge though and sometimes you need to "Piece" together your vacation. Many folks have been quite successful at that. It is however aggravating to do it this way.
