We are making reservations for a trip M-F in September and had a quick question after reviewing so many posts on this board.

Is it cheaper to make reservations directly through the hotel or at Disneyland.com?

We are not staying at DLH, we are trying to save a little money. But, since we are taking 2 four y/o, we do want a room with a microwave and fridge so we decided on Hilton Garden Inn (we stayed there in November for our last trip). Since so many of you seem to take frequent trips, I'd thought I'd ask what you had found to be cheaper.

Their fall special is 5 day passes for the price of 3 and 1 night of hotel for free. For 3 adults and 1 child, the price quoted was $811. We will buy my nephew a SoCal Anual Pass as it is cheaper than buying hopper tkts for the 5 days and all the days that we will be there are open for this pass according to their site.

Thanks in advance for any info you all have!

I never use disneyland.com, the prices don't seem as good as when you do it yourself.

I also would recommend calling the hotel directly and asking for a room-only rate, asking for any discouts which may apply (AAA, etc.). After you have the hotel only rate, do the math adding in the prices of the tickets. Make sure the package is a good deal. Generally, I find that packages are not a good deal, however the Fall Fantasy may be the exception. Last year for my husband and I, we had 4 nights at the GC for slightly under $900 which included park passes. This was right after 9/11 though, so the rate may have been lower.

Good luck with your planning!

I would also try Dreams Unlimited. They did a great job for my DL trip last October!

Also, while I agree that packages are normally not a good deal at WDW, I have found that at DL, packages at least break even or come out ahead of doing it yourself. I've used packages at the Howard Johnsons, Best Western, and GC. We did Fall Fantasy last year and it was a great deal, 4 nights for the price of 3, and an extra day free on our park passes as well!

I just booked with DreamsUnlimited for our upcoming trip (november :) )....we got a 2 br suite @ DLH....4th night free and 5 day parkhoppers for the price of 3 day. We had previously made reservations for 4 nights with 4 day hoppers using the DC card....and the Dreams price was quite a bit less PLUS we got the extra day of tickets. :) Most definitely worth looking into.

Thanks for the tips. I submitted a reservation request at the site so we'll see if they can get us anything better. If they could get me in the DLH for what I am paying through the Disney site, boy I'd be a happy camper.
