ART Service ending March 31

I wonder if hotels will get private shuttles back again? Some of the ones that are farther out will need to do something or they are going to have a harder time getting people there.

I also wonder if this has been a part of Disneys plan all along so they dont have to have the transportation hub which opens up more space for them.

Another option to consider, for example, is to enter your start location & destination into Google Maps, select the transit option (click the bus icon), and Google Maps will give you details on which bus # to use.

In the case of, for example, somebody staying at Stanford Inn & Suites, you'd take the OCTA bus #43.

I am really hoping that hotels come up with their own alternative, like they had before ART. It is likely to be not quite as frequent. Maybe every half hour for the first two and last hour the park is open, with an additional hour after park close. Then hourly for everything in between. Uber & Lyft won't be able to keep up with the demand and of course that will cause super surge pricing.

Not so much that they don't need the transportation hub, but that it will eventually be moved to the area where the new parking structure is being built. The transportation drop off next to DL is going to come down eventually. Permits were already filed for the new structure, so employee parking will be moved and construction should start soon.

Monster's final day is weeks away. I wonder if, at that time, they are going to close the Hollywood Backlot and a portion of the transportation area as well. They're almost done demolishing the ticket booths and La Brea Bakery. They may fence off the entire Avatar footprint and demo it at once. That would move Toy Story bus drop off to the side closer to Disneyland.

“No one should be concerned about any upcoming visit to our city. Anyone who’s been to our theme parks knows the high level of service getting from parking to the gates. We have every confidence that will continue.”
This statement with "the high level of service" makes me think that Disney is going to take over public transportation. I'm just guessing, but maybe while construction is happening they will create a transportation hub at Toy Story and shuttle everyone from there.

I wonder if Disney secretly planned this just so people will go in debt and stay at the resort hotels. Notice how this happened soon after Early Entry ended. Because Disney knew people would be flocking to their hotels.

That would be a really BAD idea on Disney's part. They will lose millions. There will be people that will go to the resort hotels, but more won't.

Is there even a date yet? With no announcement of a date yet I will be surprised if it isn't still open through summer. If they follow what they did for the closures at WDW they will give at least 3 months notice after the date is given.

That's was precisely my thought too. It makes complete sense for DLR to limit a significant transportation option therefore making off-site hotels further away less desirable. The Harbor and Katella hotels that are adjacent to DLR will substantially benefit too I would suppose.

This is so shocking and disappointing. I have only used ART a few times but it was nice to know it was an option, and the EVE shuttle from SNA seemed like a great service. I feel so bad for people who booked further away hotels thinking they could use ART. I sure hope word gets around so people can switch hotels if they want to.

I assume Disneyland will take over the Toy Story lot busses somehow, but they'd better come up with something quick if ART is closing down at the end of March.

They absolutely will, but I'm not looking forward to their rates skyrocketing, especially at Tropicana and Desert Inn and Suites. They get some really trashy people there. I've stayed at both in the last three years, and the cops were called at both places due to people fighting. At Tropicana back in 2024, some young mother 3 doors down from me is outside screaming her head off at a car that was shining lights right in their room.F this, F that, how dare you wake my baby up...Oh,but it was okay for her to wake the entire motel. This was at 11pm that night. Rather than ask the person nicely to shut their lights, she chose to start a screaming match. People like her are trash. ETA: The vast majority of people that stay here are nice, good people and other than the few bad apples, I like both places.

For any one who is aware of or keeping up with Disneyland forward updates and all the ongoing and planned construction this is not a surprise.

The whole front of Harbour Boulevard entrance, the current transportation lot and that side of the Esplanade will have MAJOR construction in the next few years. The whole area where Monsters Inc is will be totally unrecognizable, and as that backs onto the transportation area , bag check security and the Esplanade, its makes sense that the ART buses can not continue.

Also in Disneyland Forward is the new parking structure which will be built behind Tropicana Hotel and connected to Disney property with a new sky bridge over Harbour Boulevard. So that construction project will also be ongoing in the current ART bus transportation area.

All the disruption and construction which has been happening in Downtown Disney will start over at the Harbour Boulevard side too.

Expect a lot more things to change and be stopped.

Disney doesn't have room for everyone to stay in their hotels.

For those who aren't aware of what is planned: Disneyland Forward

Yes there is. Has it been publicly announced? Not yet.

So your information is saying that although no announcement has been made it'll close in weeks? Not months? Honestly if that is the case that is pretty ****ty to not give a date in advance other than the vague "early" 2026. I'll keep my fingers crossed that it is open for our visit, so I can get one more ride.

They are going to have to come up with some alternative, especially when it comes to the fact that the buses used for the Toy Story lot are the ART buses. I'd like to say I am not panicking but I am kind of panicking about my upcoming trip. I wanted to stay across the street like I always do but my travel companion wanted a "nicer" hotel but didn't want to pay for that at one of the Harbor hotels.
I know you already have a hotel picked out but wanted to mention that Hyatt Regency Orange County is very nice and they have a designated shuttle that runs every half an hour. It costs $6 per person per day and I think it's a 10 minute ride. They have alot of suite options.
